About this property

Located close to the much-photographed village 'Square' and only 50 yards from the beach of Inner Hope, New Cottage is a delightful property for those wanting to explore the nearby stunning coastline.

Why not take to the South West Coast Path, offering plenty of walking opportunities? Head to South Milton Sands, Thurlestone, Soar Mill Cove and beyond, all of which are easily accessible on foot from the house. Bantham, popular with surfers, is just a short drive away, whilst picturesque Salcombe, with its shops, art galleries, restaurants and pretty waterfront, can be reached by car in 10-15 minutes.

A small lobby leads into a bright, well-equipped, dual aspect kitchen with a round wooden dining table which comfortably seats four. There is a good-sized, comfortable and tastefully decorated lounge with sofa and chairs, whilst a set of stairs wind up to the first floor bedrooms.

The light and spacious master bedroom has a King-size double bed and views over the Square. The second bedroom has comfortable, adult size bunk beds. There is a family bathroom on the first floor featuring a bath with shower (over).

Outside guests can enjoy the use of a paved terrace with garden table and chairs. There is parking on the communal driveway for one to two cars.

This delightful cottage is within easy reach of Hope Cove’s amenities, as well as the popular towns of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Totnes – making it a fabulous base for a seaside getaway.

The picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove lies in a sheltered bay on South Devon’s coastline, offering superb views over Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island. A choice destination for families, two beaches offer soft sand for sandcastle building, plus rock pools great for entertaining children. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants, including the popular café bar ‘The Cove’. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards the sandy beaches of Thurlestone and Bigbury-on-Sea in one direction, and the sailing town of Salcombe in the other.

! New cottage is bright, airy, close to the beech, and only short walk to the pub and general store (for newspapers),although it is a bit hilly. It has almost all you require for a really good holiday. We had a really good week, even the weather improved as the days went on, and we saw some seals in the cove. Personally as I see, it, the bad bits, the TV was troublesome, perhaps better instructions in a pronounced place would be good, and I understand the freezer in the garage which was for our use, should be condemned to the scrap yard. -- You can publish this if you want to, but would understand if you did not. -- P.S. We have already booked for two weeks in 2025, so it cant be that bad .
