Barnhay Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable and well equipped. Excellent response from owner when we had a minor problem. Secure courtyard for the dog. Lovely balcony with views over the mill pool and beyond. Pubs within a minutes walk and the excellent River Shack just down the hill. Good walks for the dog. Totnes and Kingswear both well within 10 mins drive and Dartmouth just across from Kingswear via the ferry. We had fantastic weather, but even so would have found lots to do.

The cottage was well equipped and clean. Beds were comfortable and lots of extras like beds/ large cage for use for your dogs. Stoke Gabriel is a picturesque Devonshire village with narrow streets and plenty of places to eat and a well stocked village shop..Parking is its biggest problem we didn’t have a problem at first but on returning from our day out the space outside the house had been taken and my husband had to drive around the village looking for somewhere to park. He has COPD and getting back was difficult for him. My sister in law staying with us was using the supplied permit ifir the car park at the Millpond. That said we had a lovely week. I think if the cottage was used by potentially a group with four cars it would be a bigger issue and possible more than one permit would be an incentive for guests as it could put off return visits. We knew the parking could be a problem before we booked but didn’t think it would be for us with only two cars.

House was lovely, but location awful, nothing there, 15 minute drive to Paignton, also no. Parking at house.
