Head into the centre of Totnes (0.5 miles) to potter around the independent boutiques, galleries, and gift shops. The town has a good range of eateries, many of which enjoy fabulous views across the river. Hop on a boat trip to visit the picturesque town of Dartmouth, or stride out along the stunning Dart Valley Trail, which follows the path of the River Dart. For a traditional day at the seaside, journey to Paignton (5 miles) with its pier, amusement arcades, and sandy beach.
