Having been subject to renovation in 2019, you and your guests can relax in exceptional comfort with a fully fitted kitchen, dishwasher, flat screen TV and even underfloor heating. Wake up each morning to your blissful coastal surroundings as you admire the sea views and take a step out into the fresh sea air. Dawlish beach is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle with a stretch of sandy beach and beautiful cliffs to enjoy, and all this is on your doorstep.
Venture into Exeter city where you can visit the Underground Passages, magnificent cathedral and of course do a spot of retail therapy. There is a mixture of independent boutique shops and high street stores and plenty of popular cafés and restaurants to refuel along the way.
If being on the water is more appealing, the ocean is your playground with Reach Outdoors nearby. You can also have the convenience of being picked up by Exe Adventures to have a fun-filled day kayaking or canoeing before heading to a local pub for a well-earned drink.

Lovely stay in the railway carriage. Really unique experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Location is good for Dawlish Warren and accessing the trainline. Kitchen was well equipped and the open plan layout worked well. Lovely touch to have some milk in the fridge, tea and coffee available and a bottle of chilled prosecco ready. Bedrooms were lovely to stay in.Would have given 5 stars not 4 expected for a few issues. On arrival unfortunately some of the crockery was dirty. On reporting was told this was due to 'male cleaners'. Reported that the full size bathroom flooring was constantly wet due to water coming up between the flooring. This was prior to any of using the shower. Requested a non slip bath mat as the bath mat we had been given was thin, pretty useless and my elderly father is at risk of falls. Was told that the wet floor was caused by 'inconsiderate holidaymakers' and that they weren't able to provide a non slip bath mat as they would need to get extra insurance. Told to 'just use the mop'. On going to use the mop found we didn't have one but no response to message regarding this. I would still recommend staying in the carriage just if you have an elderly person with you, take your own bath mat!
