Lobster Cottage is a charming, characterful thatched cottage in a peaceful village setting, ideal for exploring South Devon. Guests praise its cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, and proximity to beaches, coastal walks, and local pubs. The secure garden is a bonus for dog owners. While the cottage’s period features, such as low ceilings and beams, add to its appeal, taller guests should take care. Some mention the beds and pillows could be improved, and the coin-operated electricity meter and lack of welcome pack or cleaning products are noted. Overall, it offers a delightful and relaxing stay in a picturesque location.
Multiple guests found the cottage clean and tidy on arrival, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. One review specifically mentions the property being clean and well-presented.
The location is highly praised for its quiet village charm, proximity to beaches, coastal walks, and easy access to Dawlish, Teignmouth, and other attractions. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting and convenience for exploring the area.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable overall, but several guests mention the beds and pillows are old, lumpy, or too soft, impacting sleep quality. The low ceilings and beams are noted as charming but may be challenging for taller guests.
The cottage is well-equipped for self-catering, with a secure garden and comfortable furnishings. However, the small fridge, coin-operated electricity meter, and absence of cleaning products or linen are noted as drawbacks by some guests.
Guests appreciated helpful communication and clear instructions from the owner. However, there is no mention of a welcome pack or gifts, and guests are advised to bring their own essentials. Please note that gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed.

Lovely character filled cottage in excellent location. Everyone had to bend over to get through some of the doorways, but at over 6 foot I only bumped my head once 😁. .Even the electricity meter needing £1 coins was fun.The only downside was that the beds were not great for those of us with slightly iffy backs! That said, I’d happily go back again
