Lobster Cottage is a charming, chocolate-box thatched property in a quiet village, appreciated for its proximity to beaches and coastal walks. Guests enjoy the quaint features and the well-equipped kitchen, with a secure garden for dogs. Local pubs and eateries enhance the stay, though some guests suggest improvements in bedding comfort.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy upon arrival, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The location is highly praised for its quiet village setting, accessibility to beaches, and nearby attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring South Devon.
While the cottage's charm is noted, guests have mentioned that the beds and pillows could be more comfortable. The low ceilings and beams, although part of the cottage's character, have been a minor inconvenience for taller guests.
The kitchen is well-equipped, but comments about the need for additional fridges and the inconvenience of a coin-operated electricity meter suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Lobster Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage set in a village , & in an ideal location for places to visit, there is a pub the Castle Inn but they do not allow dogs but the Smugglers Inn is a short drive(or walk) away & they are very dog friendly. The only draw backs that I can say is that there are no cleaning products so you have to take own, & remember to take pound coins for electric & no welcome pack so take essentials.

On arrival at the cottage it was clean and tidy, being a beautiful old thatched house, it has uneven floors to be expected for a property of that age, very low ceilings. However I do have a few criticisms, the beds are old lumpy and need to be replaced, after a long journey, it would be nice to have beds already made on arrival, although we were aware that we had to bring sheets and duvet covers, towels, and tea towels, it would be just a nice added touch to have these basic items already at hand. The fridge is very small and only just fits the basics.Having coins for the meter, is a bit off putting. Holcombe beach is beautiful and secluded, we had the whole beach to ourselves and perfect place for wild water swimming. The beach path is closed which was a shame. There are currently a lot of roadworks and traffic lights, which made the area very busy so we only went into dawlish once, that took the enjoyment out of the visit as we had to sit in traffic for a long time. Places we visited and would highly recommend.. Babbacombe bay for lovely lunch at the Carey arms, Oddicombe bay for breakfast, Totnes a beautiful historical town, hopes nose for amazing views and a great path walk! The Ness for a warm welcome beautiful views and lovely lunch, dinners. Teignmouth has a great beach, lovely promenade walk, lots of nice independent shops, tea shops and restaurants.

Beautiful 17th Century Cottage in a quiet village, with lovely beach walk to nearby Teighnmouth. Quaint cottage with original features, including very low ceilings. Great base to enjoy S Devon, plenty of costal walks which were loved by our 2 energetic dogs. Great pub nearby which serves food, dogs in the beer garden only. Popular seaside resorts like Torquay, within easy driving distance.
