It is just ten minutes drive to the seaside village of Shaldon with its sandy beaches, restaurants and cafes and to Maidencombe Cove with its red cliffs and cafe. There are supermarkets and stations in Newton Abbot and Teignmouth and Dartmoor National Park is just half an hour away. Coombe Valley Shepherds Hut is on the edge of a small village with two lovely gastro pubs: the cosy real-ale Wild Goose Inn with its open fires and pretty garden and Coombe Cellars with its stunning riverside setting, as well as the Woodshed Coffee Bar, all within ten minutes walking distance.

The beach is approximately 2 miles away, as is the pretty coastal village of Shaldon. This well-equipped Shepherd's hut is small but perfectly formed!

The shaker style kitchen has a microwave, toaster, kettle, induction hob and a fridge with ice box as well as all the pans, utensils and crockery that you would expect.

Take advantage of the neat dining space or dine alfresco with a glass of wine in hand, soaking in your serene surroundings. The mattress is a luxury pocket sprung mattress and is raised up with a spacious area below to tuck away suitcases, shoes etc.

The bistro table and chairs fold away if you would like a little more space.

The hut is heated with a wall mounted convection electric heater - turn it on and it is toasty in minutes.

There is also a built-in bluetooth sound system so you can play your favourite music and there is even an atmospheric light

bar so you can adjust the lighting. In a separate room there is a shower and toilet, on mains

drainage. The private area outside boasts a

barbecue, a fire pit, a picnic table and a couple of adirondack chairs for you to kick back and soak in the country views across the pretty garden to the stream, the marsh and the rolling hills beyond.

Regular visitors include woodpeckers, deer, egrets, buzzards and even the odd kingfisher has been known to stop by. There are lanterns on the side of the hut and atmospheric solar lighting. To the side of the hut there is a pretty enclosed, paved area with a roll top bath with hot and cold water.

Guests can relax in the bath and admire the views across the valley and watch the sun set over the hill opposite. The hut also has its own parking space up a gentle slope.

Guests have their own private garden area.

This is for your exclusive use but is not fenced and guests are welcome to wander into the owners’ large, well-stocked, stream-bordered gardens complete with croquet lawn and vegetable patch.

This space is shared with the owners and occasionally their visiting family.

This property is very quiet, also dark at night an Ideal place to chill and pet friendly. Very warm with very comfortable bed, pillows and quilt. What an ideal beusette property. An open invitation offered to join owners to local pub on quiz night. Extremely polite, pleasant helpful owners.

The Owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable .. even providing extras ( cream tea . Apple juice milk etc . They had lovely garden which they were happy for us to walk through ,with stream nearby and lambs to watch in field nearby . Directions etc good but need care coming out onto Shaldon road All positive but I would say that to stay there it helps if you are used to spending time in accommodation with limited space .. and we are as we have recently sold a small motorhome so this Shepherd’s hut suited us nicely. !! Lovely rural situation with some attractive villages and three good pubs nearby for eating out . Would definitely recommend it !

Great location for trips out around Devon. Some narrow country lanes to get to the Shepherd's Hut, but it's Devon. What do you expect? Easy access to a couple of pubs in walking distance, both serving food. And a surprise gift of scones, jam and cream from the owners for a welcome Devon cream tea. Owners on hand but not obtrusively so.
