Private parking for 1 car. 2 pets welcome, to be attended in the property and garden at all times. No smoking.. The Smithy glamping pods are fully equipped newly built lodges in the semi-rural area of Dainton, outside of Newton abbot. Situated on the owners smallholding and with beautiful countryside views. The owners are also happy to give guided tours where they are able.
As you enter the lodge through the French doors, you find yourself in the open kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, electric hob and fridge/freezer. The living/dining area benefits from dining table and chairs, a sofa bed as additional sleeping and a TV. The bedroom contains a kingsize bed with wall mounted TV and en-suite shower room. The lodge has a lovely small decked and patio area to the front where guests can sit out and relax on the two zero-gravity garden chairs, looking out across the fields with various animals
There are many local restaurants with great food located relatively nearby, including pubs with their famous 2 in 1 pies. Whether you are wanting to visit the area for the countryside walks or the stunning coastal walks and beaches nearby, these peaceful retreats will be a great base to start to explore the English Riviera and South Hams with all it has to offer. Glamping was a new experience for us and we absolutely loved these pods! Spacious, clean, loads of equipment, good night’s sleep, good sized enclosed garden - what’s not to love? Oh, and a view of sheep…immediately rebooked for May! We love the area, it’s great for our dogs with lots of walks and then Newton Abbot on the doorstep. Recommend.

Just came back from staying in smithy pod 1, the pod has everything you need for a self catering break, very comfortable and very well thought out, we have 2 border collies and the enclosed garden was perfect, the owners were lovely and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dog friendly holiday accommodation, will definitely be back in the near future.

What fantastic hosts so welcoming, helpful and friendly, the pods are great very clean and with everything I needed for my five day stay with my dog. Shame about the weather, but it is November. Will be going back in summer for sure.
