Chudleigh is an ancient wool town resting in the Teignbridge District area of Devon, with plenty of history and scenic sights to explore at any time of year. The town has history dating back to the Saxon times, with many place names from this time still being seen today, as well as historic wonders such as caves at Rock, as well as an Iron Age hillfort overlooking the town. Chudleigh also hosts a good range of amenities, including two pubs, an English restaurant, convenience stores, quaint shops, and much more to assist on a self-catered stay. The Teign Valley is a dramatically steep wooded valley to the Eastern flank of Dartmoor National Park between the villages of Dunsford in the North and Chudleigh to the South. The villages of Christow, Lower and Higher Ashton, Dunsford and Hennock are peaceful locations for holidays with beautiful scenery all around with hills, fields, rivers and stunning thatched cottages. The entire area in and around Chudleigh is a walker's paradise with magnificent views to be admired. If you’re feeling a little more energetic then you could try your hand at rock climbing, go kayaking on the nearby River Teign, mountain biking or trekking around the location and beyond. Spend a day in the tradition seaside town of Dawlish, perfect for relaxing beach days with a variety of family-friendly attractions and amusements, while The Lawn and Brook is where you can find the famed majestic black swans. Spend a day in the ancient town of Exeter, with its wonderful City Walls encompassing its centre as well as the wonders of its Gothic cathedral, Exeter Castle, and many more landmarks awaiting to be discovered. Under sofa hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Downstairs shower room looks new but dirt cobwebs between show glass and tiles plus something on floor behind toilet. Worst of all was the front upstairs bedroom! Floor was filthy under beds. One single bed mattress was the most uncomfortable and worn mattress I've ever seen, but it was the smell that got me. In the end I took the duvet cover off to find old blood and other stains all over it. I would give that duvet to anyone absolutely disgusting. Broken chair on rear bedroom balcony, and coffee table legs broken in lounge. Light bulbs flickering and some not working. Rear upstairs bedroom wardrobe inners absolutely filthy and boiler heat shield guard missing (looks dangerous) general condition of lodge inside very tired and not as oer pictures. What looked like blood marks on duvet cover and wall in rear bedroom and on the wall. For me the duvet was a healthy hazard, general cleaners is one thing but that was utterly disgusting.

No battery in kitchen clock Broken information frame left on kitchen window sill Used candles left near hot tub Used empty olbas bottle left in sauna Plastic glasses for outside use for only 2 people not 6 Wrong WiFi code displayed Not all jets worked in hot tub No heating or hot water in lodge upon arrival , when maintenance sorted the boiler pressure there was still no hot water in bath, pointless having a bath if it can’t be used . ( i have taken photos as evidence) Housekeeping notified Maintenance notified Our time was wasted by trying to sort out above matters when we were only there for 3 nights , Very disappointed with our stay, glad to be home in a clean environment… It would appear that regular checks are not made in this lodge to check standards such as a clock battery, cleanliness, hot tub functioning etc, Little things can make all the difference in a weekend break, we would have loved to return regularly as we live only one hour away and it’s located in a great place. It’s just so disappointing for us.
