Enjoying a scenic quayside position in the charming North Devon town of Appledore, Ferriwais offers three couples or a family of six a tranquil retreat spread over three floors. Admire river views from this North Devon dwelling, and delight in being just three miles from the shores of Westward Ho! and the South West Coast Path. Soak up the scenic views of the water before stepping into the front door, leaving coats and boots in the entryway and coming through the classic inner stable door. Discover a bespoke fitted kitchen with ample cupboard space, an impressive range cooker with large gas hob, and a quaint window seat area so you can keep an eye on the cooking whilst soaking up the views and watching the world go by. Head further into the open-plan living space to lay the table for the evening meal at the lovely dining area tucked in the alcove, with two sofas to unwind on following a tasty meal. Watch a film on the TV (Sky, Netflix or Amazon Prime are available) with the group or listen to your favourite music playing through the Sonos Play:5 sound system. Continue the evening over some wine, or head outside into the courtyard garden to appreciate the balmy summertime warmth. A shower room with toilet completes the ground floor layout, also home to a washer/dryer, whilst upstairs on the first floor an excellent bathroom can be found too, providing multiple places to freshen up and get ready for your days of adventure. On the first floor two delightful bedrooms offer lovely sleeping spots, with one facing the quayside offering pretty scenes to wake up to, as does the second-floor double bedroom, benefitting from an elevated view. Step out of the front door and be right on the quayside of Appledore, with all you need just a short stroll away, including a fantastic deli selling a myriad of tasty treats and essentials, as well as plenty of takeaways and fish and chip shops, and several pubs and bars for indulging in evening drinks. The village is home to the North Devon Maritime Museum thanks to its rich heritage in fishing and boat building, and plays host to the Appledore-Instow Regatta each year where you can cheer on the boat crews racing along the quay! Enjoy your own seafaring adventure with a range of boat and fishing trips available from the village, or hop on the seasonal ferry over to Instow for lovely views of Appledore and a walk along the shores of Instow Beach. Head over to Westward Ho! for a fabulous day on the glorious sandy beach here, with vast space at low tide for sunbathing, beach games and walks, or venture into the Northam Burrows Country Park. Travel along the South West Coast Path whether by foot or bike to soak up the serene sea views and coastal scenery, coming to the dramatic Abbotsham Cliffs. Take a trip back in time to the Bideford Railway Heritage Centre to take afternoon tea in an old rail car and explore the exhibits, before further exploring the lovely town, also home to The Burton Art Gallery and Museum and Victoria Park.
