A comfortable and cosy thatched cottage forming part of a wing of the owner’s impressive 15th-century thatched house. The holiday cottage has been presented to ensure a contemporary feel but still retaining plenty of character including beams. The cottage is spread over two floors with a large living/dining area and kitchen, and then up stairs is a double bedroom and a bathroom. Situated outside the village of North Tawton, the cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding Devon countryside. The regional town of Okehampton is close by and is considered the gateway to Dartmoor National Park. The town also provides a good range of shops and amenities.
On Dartmoor, there are plenty of walks for all ages and abilities to enjoy this stunning and dramatic area as well as some pretty villages with pubs and tea rooms. Towards the coast there are many fine beaches and coves including Saunton, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! A trip to Lundy Island can be arranged from Bideford pier. There are numerous places of interest close by including the R.H.S. gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. Visit the last castle to be built in England at Castle Drogo (National Trust). There is golf at Okehampton and Ashbury, or you can hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail at Great Torrington. Shop and pub 1½ miles, restaurant 6 miles.
The winter fuel supplement of £30 per week, and £20 per short break, payable from 1st November to 31st March to the owner on arrival.
Electric vehicle charging is not permitted at the property.

We had a fantastic time at the cottage, it was lovely and very clean. There were some nice touches like fresh eggs, a loaf of bread, 2 bottles of cider and a small bottle of milk In the fridge much all went down very nicely The only thing that we found was you couldn’t walk to the village to go to the pub or shops as the roads were very narrow and sometimes busy, as we do like to go for a walks in the evening, you definitely need a car as most places are about 1 hour or so away But otherwise we had a lovely 4 night stay it was very quiet which we loved.

Absolutely loved my stay at the beautiful thatched cottage Little Nymett, really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Didn’t realise there was no Wi-fi but it didn’t bother us. Parking right outside the door is a real bonus.The best welcome pack we have ever had from our hosts fresh bread, homemade flapjacks, eggs and cider. Had a great day out to Exeter on the train from Copplestone, and visited Brixham and the Lost gardens of Heligan.

Lovely stay everything you would need while on holiday . Possibly comfier /reclining sun chairs as we had fabulous weather. Lovely treats left by the host on arrival ,home made bread ,flapjack ,fresh milk ,eggs n cider. A few miles to local shops . Found EV fast charging about 6 miles away open 24hrs . Cottage centrally located to visit the coast . We had a lovely holiday
