Miners Dry is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its secluded and peaceful location with direct access to scenic walks. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, the warm welcome with thoughtful touches like cream teas, and the property's suitability for dogs. While most find it comfortable and well-equipped, a few mention the furniture could be more comfortable and there are minor maintenance issues.
Guests consistently report the cottage as spotless and clean, with only one mention of mould and dust in corners, which seems to be an isolated concern.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to nature trails, and the feeling of seclusion, with only minor notes on the presence of passersby which did not significantly impact the guests' experiences.
The majority of guests find the cottage cosy and the bed comfortable. However, there are comments about the living room furniture being less comfortable, which slightly lowers the score.
Facilities are generally seen as good, with special mentions of the welcome pack and wood burner. Some minor issues like a faulty shower and TV sound are noted, but these are promptly addressed by the owner.
The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with welcome packs including cream teas and treats. While these are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
Within two acres of National Heritage Site woodland about a mile from Gulworthy is this secluded little single-storey cottage. Magically surrounded by a woodland, it is a very special place for couples to enjoy a romantic break. A few steps lead you up into the open plan living space, once a place for miners to dry their clothes and now a comfy and lovely room with beams and cosy wood burning stove in the inglenook. The en suite double bedroom is a romantic place for peaceful nights in this private setting. Enjoy outdoor suppers in the garden and you may hear the nightjar or spot shy deer around you. With the Tamar Trails on your doorstep, head out with the map provided for long walks or cycle rides. Or why not pick up a paddle and join the canoe expeditions on the interesting River Tamar? The National Trust houses of Cotehele and Buckland Abbey are fascinating to visit, as is historic Morwellham Quay. The nearby Horn of Plenty restaurant is renowned or maybe eat out in the old market town of Tavistock or the bustling city of Plymouth. Miners Dry is a fabulous place for chilling out or enjoying quality time with your nearest and dearest.
