Lovely welcome from the owners Sally and Christopher.. The Smithy is a lovely cottage on the edge of Dartmoor which was clean and tidy with a suitably equipped kitchen. The cottage is situated on a narrow lane but parking for one car is available outside the owners house 2 doors up.. it has a local shop about a mile or so away and also has local pub / restaurants close by. Sally is very knowledgeable about the local area and happy to share her recommendations of where to eat. It is ideally situated for hikers ( not us) or for those exploring further afield by car. Time prevented us from seeing everything we had planned but would be happy to return to the Smithy for another stay to continue where we left off.. Thank you Sally and Christopher for having a lovely property

Wonderful week. Sally & Philip couldn’t have been more helpful and the use of their beautiful garden was a bonus. Our first walk every morning was down the hill into the wood which had a lovely stream at the bottom and a seat to sit and enjoy the smells and sounds of the countryside then up steps into their field. The Smithy is right on the doorstep of Dartmoor and so many other lovely attractions The Gorge, St Mary’s Church up high with magnificent views. Highly recommend. Thank you Sally
