Brook Cottage is a charming and spacious retreat in a peaceful countryside setting, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and well-equipped facilities. Guests particularly enjoyed the tranquil brook, the enclosed patio, and the property's suitability for dog owners. The friendly and helpful host, along with thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers and milk on arrival, were frequently mentioned. While some guests noted minor issues with directions, garden access, and proximity to a caravan park, the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, making it an ideal base for exploring Dorset and the surrounding areas.
Cleanliness is consistently highlighted, with multiple guests describing the cottage as spotless, immaculately clean, and well-presented. Only one minor mention of damage to a wall and kitchen trim was noted, but this did not detract from the overall impression.
The location is praised for its peaceful village setting and convenience for exploring Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire. Some guests mentioned the proximity to a caravan park and the need to cross a road for grass, but most found the setting tranquil and well-situated for day trips.
Guests frequently described the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with special mention of comfy beds and relaxing living areas. The sound of the brook and the quiet surroundings added to the restful atmosphere.
The cottage is well-equipped with quality kitchenware, Smart TV, and modern amenities. The enclosed patio and access to fields were appreciated, especially by dog owners. Minor suggestions included clearer instructions for appliances and more up-to-date local information.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers, milk, tea, and a warm welcome from the host. While these gestures were frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, and we were welcomed with flowers, tea and milk, all much appreciated. A little information on good local eating places, and recycling requirements, etc would be useful but not essential. There is so much we still haven't seen, so I am sure we will be back!

Very comfy beds and a highlight for us was going to sleep with the sounds of the running brook outside our window. It had everything we needed. We appreciated the tea, milk and vase of flowers on our arrival. We even managed to have lunch in the patio garden in the sunshine in February. Richard Light the owner was friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. We would love to come back again
