Within a few minutes’ drive are a country pub, a heated indoor swimming pool with sauna, golf, and the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill, abbey ruins, shopping and cafes. Within driving distance are Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, Corfe Castle, Stonehenge, Longleat, Stourhead and numerous other places of interest.

Excellent homely cottage, situated in a perfect setting of serene rolling Dorset countryside, lovely and peaceful. Plenty of scenic villages, towns and country walks a very short drive away. Great value & would definitely recommend for a weekend/week getaway, and hope to return again in the future.

We had a comfortable stay at Edgecombe. Property is well shaded in the very hot weather. Loved the views of wide skies and the great sunsets. Quiet & private despite being near busy road. Lots to do nearby and great choice of walks & local facilities.The only downside is that it is difficult to walk directly from the property. We did this on our first stay but , though there is a public footpath yards away, negotiating the few yards along the road ( no footway) was a bit hair-raising.
