Spread out in this impressive holiday home on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. Set in the heart of the village of Corfe Castle, it dates back to the 18th century and sleeps up to eight in four bedrooms, making it ideal for a group. Bring two dogs with you to romp in the large enclosed garden and accompany you on hikes along the Jurassic Coast.

Make your way into the Grade II-listed period property to find airy rooms with an abundance of character. Discover the beamed lounge has a stone inglenook fireplace, with wood burner. Watch TV or wander through to the snooker room to pot some balls. Prepare hearty meals in the kitchen, with its electric cooker and electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, and two fridge/freezers, then serve up in the dining room or conservatory. Discover a ground-floor utility room, with a washing machine and WC. Venture upstairs where all four bedrooms can be found upstairs. At one end of the property is a family room with a king-size bed and a cot bed, the other being a king-size bedroom with garden views, this is a zip-and-link king-size bed, which can be made as a twin (2ft 6in beds) on request. These rooms have shared use of a shower room with WC. At the opposite end of the house are two bedrooms, one king-size bedroom with large en-suite and the other being a super king-sized zip and link bed which can be made up a twin on request (3ft beds), adjacent to a bathroom which has a shower over bath and a WC. Dine outside and enjoy the views from the lawned garden. Find parking for three smaller cars at the cottage; larger vehicles can park nearby on a side road.

Stroll through the streets of Corfe Castle and dine out in a pub or cafe. Visit the ruins of the castle, built by Willian the Conqueror. Catch the steam train or drive into Swanage, 6 miles away, to enjoy the sandy beach. Visit beauty spots, such as Lulworth Cove (12 miles), and Durdle Door, 12.5 miles from the holiday home.
