About this property

Tucked away within the Herston Yards Farm Holiday Park, on the outskirts of Swanage, is this delightful lodge, Birch. Benefitting from open-plan living and a decking with fabulous hot tub and furniture set, Birch invites families for a delightful stay in Dorset. After a day on the beach, wash away the sand in the shower room before retreating to the open-plan living area to reflect on the day. Curl up by the electric fire or take over the kitchen as you prepare a hearty meal, to be enjoyed at the dining table or alfresco style at the patio furniture. Escape to the bedrooms to catch your rest, offering a double with TV and en-suite bathroom and a twin, each neutrally presented. Browse the on-site facilities and you’ll find a handy shop where you can refill on cupboard essentials or enjoy a meal at The Old Mess Room, which is open from 9am in the summer months, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and a takeaway service. Head into the hustle and bustle of Swanage, home to a variety of shops, pubs, takeaways, cafes and restaurants, and be sure to visit the sandy beach where you can dip your toes in the sea! Keen walkers can’t miss out on the South West Coast Path, trailing to Studland & Goldingston Heath, whilst the Victorian Pier is a great chance for you to try your hand at fishing! Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a delightful day out with glorious coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, or head to Studland, home to one of the finest beaches in the country with excellent water sport opportunities. However you choose to spend your holiday time, a stay at Birch offers lots to look forward to.

Swanage is a small, family-friendly beach town on the renowned Isle of Purbeck, at the eastern extremity of Dorset's renowned Jurassic Coast. Swanage is arguably best known for its lovely, gently sloping golden sands. The small town is well renowned for its annual jazz festival, which is held in July, and for its abundance of stores, fine taverns, and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood. The charming Victorian wooden pier is a lovely spot to promenade, go fishing, or just sit and take in the sights. It's also a popular starting point for divers. Regular vintage steam engine excursions transport tourists on a charming 6-mile journey, chugging through gorgeous countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle, from the town's terminal on the historic Swanage Railway. With beautiful coastline walks, dolphin sightings, and wildlife viewing in addition to comfortable viewing areas and a well stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air, nearby Durlston Country Park makes for a fantastic day out. Take the frequent chain ferry that travels over the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks and the short drive to Studland, which has one of the best beaches in the nation and is bordered by heathland. Any time of year, you can have a wonderful stay here.

Very clean and bathroom and en suite facilities excellent. Bed very comfortable and bedding and towels supplied is a bonus. Could do with extra kitchen items such as a teapot and measuring jug plus pudding basins if self catering. It is also a real plus to have the facility of a hot tub.

Straight forward check in / check out. Friendly no nonsense service. Lodge was spot on, clean tidy and well maintained. Brilliant, thanks.
