Waterston Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, prime location, and overall comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property and its proximity to local attractions and dining. While minor maintenance issues are noted, the cottage's charm and the quality of stay are consistently celebrated.
The property is consistently described as spotless and immaculate, indicating a high standard of cleanliness. One mention of post/junk mail behind the door upon arrival slightly detracts from the otherwise pristine condition.
The location is frequently commended for its peacefulness and convenience to local sights and restaurants. Its proximity to Lulworth Cove and a welcoming local pub within walking distance is a highlight for guests.
Overall, guests find the property comfortable, with a well-equipped cottage and pleasant bathrooms. However, some guests experienced issues with temperature control and windows not opening, which affected their comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a few suggestions for additional items and minor maintenance issues such as heating control and window operation. The property is equipped with a coffee machine and offers lovely views.
While guests did not explicitly mention receiving gifts, there is a reference to a missing welcome pack. As it is unclear whether this is a standard offering, it cannot be confirmed that gifts are provided, and thus the score is set to null.

West Lulworth is one of the most photographed places in the UK and has some of the most impressive geological features along the Jurassic coast. It really is a must to visit Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, which are located in the centre of this region. There are many little eateries and beachside shacks in Lulworth Cove that serve fresh local seafood, ice cream, and other delectables. There are also a number of restaurants and bars to select from. The construction of the cove and Durdle Door as well as the Jurassic history of the area are explained in the Lulworth estate information centre. If you grow weary of the Cove and clifftop treks, Lulworth Castle, Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle are only a short drive away and provide another look at some more recent history. The village still maintains many of its thatched homes and exudes a genuine sense of a rural retreat because it is located in such a unique environment.

It was pristine and had 3 lovely bathrooms and only 2 minutes from the pub and a pleasant 10 minute walk to Lulworth Cove. Ideal! All was well until we needed to open bedroom windows. None of which would open so consequently we had an uncomfortable first night as it was so warm. Also the patio doors would not lock. The phone number given did not allow options for reporting an issue ( why not?) so I emailed the next morning.I was contacted half an hour later and the helpful property manager said he would visit the property which he did. Apparently,he contacted us during the day but neither my friend or I received a voice mail or message so on returning I emailed again as apart from the patio doors the other windows still would not open. The manager phoned and told me how to unhook âthe safety catchâ which worked so a comfortable night! On the last day after shutting the windows for security they would not open again so another hot and frustrating night as it was too late to email again. The windows that had keys would not open either. I.e. in the top bedroom and the twin room. I hope that this issue is solved for the next guests as it was just ridiculous. On another note, we met the lovely cleaner on the way out and she commented that we should have had a welcome pack?? Is that so as I am not aware we were asked to request one if required. 13.5 tog duvets are not suitable for the summer months and when stripping the beds we noticed there was only a sheet on top of the mattress in the 1st floor double room. Not very hygienic! Due to these issues I cannot give the property 5 stars that it really deserves.

Good food provided by great pub within walking distance from the cottage. Lovely quiet location with walks at the back of the property (steep walk) with an enclosed garden in a sunny spot. We'd definitely stay there again.

It was cold though until the morning we were leaving and we could not adjust the temperature downstairs. Another couple of throws would have been beneficial. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend.
