Welcome to Champernhayes Holiday Cottages, a collection of six beautiful holiday homes on the Devon/Dorset border and very close to the world-famous Jurassic Coastline. Each cottage offers the perfect stay dependant on your party size, as well as an indoor heated plunge pool (bookable for private us one arrival) and acres of grounds to enjoy.
Blackbird is a single-storey cottage that has been thoughtfully created to provide a spacious yet cosy retreat. Two of the bedrooms are double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom, a twin, is accessed via the living room by two steps, and it also has an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath. Outside, you have your private garden with patio, lawned area, barbecue and garden furniture.
Just 2 miles from Champernhayes you will find the small seaside town of Charmouth, with a few small shops and cafés, and miles of coastline for budding fossil hunters to explore. Slightly further afield you will find Lyme Regis, made famous by starring in films such as The French Lieutenants Woman, Ammonite and Wonka, as well as its traditional seaside shops, promenade and Cobb. Heading inland to Bridport, you will find larger stores and supermarkets intertwined with independent shops, restaurants and cafés.
Blackbird (UKC6109) can be booked with Lark (UKC6105), Owl (UKC6107) and Swallow (UKC6108) to accommodate up to 16 guests.

Blackbird cottage had good parking for us, it's in a quiet area with lovely dog walks on the doorstep. We were fortunate to have a few plums and apples from the shared front orchard. There is a pool but sadly it wasn't open for the first few days of our stay and it does suggest it's aimed at children. The house has comfy beds and settees and is relaxing. The garden is pleasant and we did manage to have a couple of BBQ although we had to request the BBQ to be bought round which happened without any trouble. We had plenty of crockery etc but for 6 it may be tight. It could have been a bit cleaner but was ok, no cleaning products, spare loo rolls or tea and coffee etc are provided so be sure to take your own. We didn't need the fire but it does say that it should only be used if absolutely necessary and there are radiators, a shame if you were planning cosy evenings with a lovely log fire. TV WiFi dishwasher and washing machine available and work well.

A really lovely cottage situated in a peaceful rural location adjoining other cottages and larger properties sharing a communal courtyard from where access to the inside pool is reached. This was easily bookable for our family when we wanted to use it and kept clean and warm at all times. Our kids loved it. The private rear garden was also delightful. Our dog was securely able to run around whilst we sat in the sunshine. A lovely retreat.
