About this property

Pippin’s Loder’s is a pretty stone cottage situated in the picturesque village of Loders, near Bridport in Dorset.

Providing a very comfortable, tranquil base from which to discover this area of outstanding natural beauty. Dating back over 200 years the cottage has been tastefully renovated, offering all contemporary comforts while retaining numerous period features including exposed beams, a large inglenook fireplace with open fire, and bread oven which gives the cottage a traditional cosy feel. Pippins has been decorated to a high standard and enjoys stunning views. Guests can soak up the sun or dine al fresco in the fully enclosed garden with patio areas. Pippins has wonderful views across the countryside from both downstairs and upstairs, creating an ever-changing picture for everyone to enjoy.

With a multitude of footpaths and byways right outside the door, Pippins is within easy reach of Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic coastline and the many beautiful beaches, it provides a perfect base for walkers and cyclists alike.

The Crown at Uploders and the Loders Arms in Loders are both traditional pubs welcoming families, they serve delicious home cooked food, real ale and have open log fires to warm yourself by on colder days. Both the pubs are within easy walking distance.

Enclosed by green hills and countryside with quaint little streams and rivers running through it, The market town of Bridport is just perfect for city dwellers searching for country charm. With traditional pubs, most of whom welcome dogs, great markets, fantastic restaurants and tea rooms and the famous art scene, there is plenty to keep everyone in your cottage party occupied and happy.

Pippins Loders is an ideal base for your holiday with its countryside location, yet still close enough to the coast and towns.

Bridport is an attractive market town that grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.

DVD player would have been nice too. But cottage was spotless & the Christmas decorations were a nice touch. We would stay again, it is in a great position for local amenities, yet still very quiet.

Visited The Lodders Arms for drinks , be aware they do close mid afternoon . The Crown was a lovely pub with gorgeous food and a 10 minute walk from the cottage . There is a farm opposite with fresh eggs . Disappointed with lack of logs and lack of information where to get them but found some at the co-op in Bridport . The fire was amazing , the sofas very comfortable . The showers could do with more power but the bathrooms were lovely . I would stay again definitely .

My only critical feedback was dog hairs on both purple throws,I understand it is dog friendly, but could you please remind holiday makers to not use the cottage throws and to bring their own, thank you
