No smoking.. Welcome to Champernhayes Holiday Cottages, a collection of six beautiful holiday homes on the Devon/Dorset border and very close to the world-famous Jurassic Coastline. Each cottage offers the perfect stay dependant on your party size, as well as an indoor heated plunge pool (bookable for private use on arrival) and acres of grounds to enjoy.
Lark is a two bedroomed, single-storey cottage that has been thoughtfully created to provide a spacious yet cosy retreat with an open-plan layout. The living room has a fabulous wood burner, comfy seating to relax on and a dining table and chairs, while the kitchen comes fully equipped. Lark has one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a large twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Outside, you have your private garden with patio, lawn and barbecue area.
Just 2 miles from Champernhayes you will find the small seaside town of Charmouth, with a few small shops and cafés, and miles of coastline for budding fossil hunters to explore. Slightly further afield you will find Lyme Regis, made famous by starring in films such as The French Lieutenants Woman, Ammonite and Wonka, as well as its traditional seaside shops, promenade and Cobb. Heading inland to Bridport, you will find larger stores and supermarkets intertwined with independent shops, restaurants and cafés.
Lark (UKC6105) can be booked with Owl (UKC6107), Swallow (UKC6108) and Blackbird (UKC6109) to accommodate up to 16 guests.

The cottage is in a really nice quiet spot. Proper country garden feel and so many robins. The country lanes can feel a bit narrow at times but after a couple of day, you get used to it. Despite there being a number of cottages, it was so peaceful. You could convince yourself that no one else was staying there. All amenities worked well, we made full use of the well equipped kitchen. A frying pan would have been handy but we managed. Pegs were provided but we couldn’t locate a washing line - we were able to dry clothes outside though with a well placed tree. It’s a while since I have done a fully self catered holiday, so while we were prepared for essentials like milk, I hadn’t considered extra toilet rolls and bin bags. The hosts were very responsive though and helped us out with a starter pack. The living room was welcoming and we were able to stream on the tv. Wi-Fi. coverage overall was great. The dining area was ample for our party of 4. Bathroom facilities worked well. We don’t quite manage to work out the temperature gauge but it was at a decent temperature and had great pressure. Beds are always going to be each to your own. For me, I struggled with the low height of the double bed and the mattress was a little too soft. That said, we all slept well and many a comedy moment was had in watching me getting up off the bed. The location worked really well for us as it provided a good base for the trips out we did. We visited Bournemouth, Southampton, Plymouth, Torquay, Salisbury, Lyme Regis and Charmouth. I would stay here again, great responsive hosts, clean and well equipped accommodation and made for a quiet peaceful break.
