Bridport is a charming market town that grew up around the River Brit and was shaped by its long history of rope and net manufacturing. Today the same streets are filled with a fascinating array of businesses, restaurants, and inns. The market in Bridport is frequently featured in the River Cottage television show. The stunning Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, lies 2 miles south of Bridport, while Lyme Regis is only 10 miles away. A fantastic location for exploring West Dorset.

It had absolutely everything we could possibly need and was in a great location to get to other areas with ease. The owners are the loveliest people, just so helpful and friendly and really made our stay perfect. We couldn’t be more grateful to them for such a wonderful stay, thank you so much!

The welcome pack included treats for the dog which was a lovely touch. The cottage had even we needed and offered a comfortable base from which to explore Dorset. The paintings around the cottage were stunning and from a distance you may be mistaken for thinking they are photographs. A walk across the fields revealed a beautiful view across to the coast. We would recommend this cottage for a family of 5. Yes the road is a little noisy but you can't hear it from downstairs and by the evening it really isn't a problem. Thank you for our lovely holiday!

The advert did state road noise but it was more than I expected. The bottom oven doesn’t work, the knives were blunt, we couldn’t even cut some bread so we had to buy a knife sharper & the fridge froze our eggs and fruit! Apart from those little things it had everything we needed and only a 25 minute drive to the beaches.
