Guests say

Molly's Cottage in Dorchester is highly praised for its beautiful furnishings, comfort, and central location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and cleanliness. The traditional features and character add to the charm, and the property is an excellent base for exploring Dorset. Some guests noted the low ceilings and small kitchen, but overall, the cottage offers a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'super clean' and well-maintained, indicating a high standard of hygiene and care.

The central location is frequently highlighted as a major advantage, being close to shops, pubs, restaurants, and local attractions, making it an ideal spot for visitors.

The comfort of the cottage is often praised, especially the super comfortable beds. However, there is a mention of uncomfortable lounge seating, which slightly affects the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and high-quality appliances. However, the score is slightly lowered due to a mention of a non-working dishwasher and the small kitchen size.

The provision of coffee, tea, and biscuits is a thoughtful touch appreciated by guests. While such gestures are warmly received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Among this area are stunning beaches, nature reserves and seaside towns such as Lyme Regis and Weymouth. Further inland continues to impress, with the historic towns of Sherborne, Corfe Castle, and Cerne Abbas to name but a few. Even without a car you can be sure to experience Dorset’s delights by utilising either of the two train stations in Dorchester, or the well-connected bus services, just a brief walk away. A trip to Dorset is not complete without visiting the market town of Dorchester, with its Roman roads, museums and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants. Enjoy a scenic walk around Maiden Castle, the largest hillfort in England, or visit the County Museum which has a room devoted to Thomas Hardy, born just two miles away in Bockhampton. Just seven miles away are the glorious gently shelving beaches and picturesque harbour of Weymouth, and the rugged peninsula of Portland, linked to the mainland by Chesil Beach, part of the breathtaking World Heritage Coastline. Its a shame the dishwasher wasn’t working but at least the owner tried to have it repaired while we were staying.
