Tucked away within the peaceful sanctuary of Pinewood Retreat, the wooden lodge welcomes you the moment you arrive, as if it has been waiting just for you. As you step through the door, you enter a warm open-plan space where the gentle glow of natural light settles over the dining table and soft sofas. The smart TV sits ready for cosy evenings, while the fitted kitchen wraps around the corner with everything you might need with a fridge, oven, microwave and coffee machine humming with the promise of slow mornings.
The lodge carries a calm, inviting atmosphere, the kind that encourages you to take a breath and settle in. At the other end of the lodge, the spacious bathroom offers a large walk-in shower, perfect after a day of exploring. The master bedroom feels restful and snug, while the additional twin bedroom provides comfortable space for family or friends. Outside, the small, enclosed decking area invites you to sit with a cup of tea and listen to the sounds of the peaceful surrounding, a private little haven of its own.

Lodge 1 was in a lovely quiet location & layout of lodges was very nice. Lodge was spotlessly clean.. Bed comfortable. There were some negatives though. Sofa uncomfortable & TV was far too high up on wall for comfort (hurt our necks). Very tiny kitchen bin (bathroom size) & only 1 bin bag provided so bring your own.Kitchen was well equipped, but no kitchen roll or dish cloth, so bring your own.In bathroom, only one bath sheet provided & two smaller towels.Nowhere to put toiletries except small windowsill & no shelf in shower so I would bring a bathroom tidy to hang over shower next time.I would probably come again, but will bring the "missing" items with me next time.Great location for sightseeing. Good pub in village of Axmouth (The Harbour Inn (10mins away). Do a great carvery. Kings Garden Centre, nr Sidmouth (23mins away) do great breakfast & good selection of cakes.
