About this property

Boasting a highly sought after setting in the heart of Lyme Regis in Dorset is this traditional chocolate-box thatched cottage, The Nest. Ideal for families on holiday together, The Nest offers guests a welcoming sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the attractive seaside town of Lyme Regis. The property has a wealth of original features which help to create a real homely ambience starting with the open-plan living space which comes complete with traditional wood ceiling beams, a feature fireplace and a charming window seat; the perfect place for curling up together and soaking up the rustic vibe of the cottage. The cottage-style kitchen is fully fitted with all you need to prepare delicious fayre for the whole family and there is an elegant dining area adjoining the kitchen which is all set up ready for you to pull up a chair and indulge in long, relaxing meals together. If the weather allows then you could carry on the occasion outside where there is a charming patio area with table and chairs, ideal for enjoying some drinking and dining alfresco. When bedtime calls, climb the stairs to either of the traditionally presented bedrooms, one a king-size and the other a twin, but both beautifully styled and the perfect place to wake up in the morning before heading out for the day. Exploring Lyme Regis couldn’t be easier with the town and beach just a short walk away. Here you will find a good selection of amenities and attractions such as Lyme Regis Philpot Museum, Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium. Hop in the car for a short but scenic drive to places such as Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens and Children’s Farm, Portland Castle and Lighthouse, Charmouth Coast Heritage Centre and Seaton Tramway. Additional attractions if you have time while you’re out and about include Pecorama, Forde Abbey and Gardens, Escot Gardens and Crealy Adventure Park. The Nest offers a haven of relaxation to its guests.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

Lots of space in the property and garden to relax in, and also a great bass to get out and about in Lyme Regis.

Would say it would be a squeeze for 6 people for any more than a weekend but perfect for 2 to 4 people. The dogs loved the garden and being only a few minutes walk to the beach. The parking permit was most welcome and the goodie hamper of local produce was delicious! Very comfy beds too

(I love coffee and was delighted with the Dorset goodie bag including the local roasted ground coffee) - thankfully I found the cafetière, so all was happy in my world. What a gem. Kids delighted with the board game selection, especially cluedo. Sofa bed mattress was impressively comfy (usually they are very thin, so a big thumbs up for quality bedding!) I can’t wait to book again. Thankyou
