Welcome to Barnyard, a wonderful barn conversion finished in 2023 to an exceptionally high standard both inside and out! It offers a fully enclosed/secure garden area, with a large patio that has a fabulous seating area and is the perfect place to relax at any time of day. There is a private hot tub with screening around where you can stare at the stars or listen to bird song. Barnyard enjoys a southerly aspect making the most of the summer evenings and romantic sunsets.
Inside, Barnyard is perfect for families of all ages, with level access throughout. The property has been designed with the visually impaired in mind. The stunning open-plan lounge, kitchen, and diner has a gorgeous vaulted ceiling with oak beams and original statement lighting fixtures. The lounge has a large Smart TV, comfy sofas and large French doors and windows overlooking and with access to the patio and hot tub while the dining area has a table and chairs and leads to the extremely well-equipped kitchen, with its quartz worktops, range cooker and breakfast bar, it will be a delight to prepare a meal at any time of day! Off the entrance hall, you will find a large utility area and a separate toilet, along with a wine store/pantry. Down the hallway you will find the office/games room, main bathroom and bedrooms. The office comes well-equipped with desks, ethernet ports and screens for those of you who need to occasionally bring work with you. You will also find a games console for kids of all ages to enjoy. The spacious master bedroom has a super kingsize bed, French doors to the garden and a large en-suite with a level walk-in shower. Bedroom two has twin beds which can zip together to be a super kingsize bed and a handy shower, allowing everyone to be able to get ready at the same time! Bedroom three has a double bed, and the family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. While Barnyard is completely private, located nearby to the owner, it is set on the their smallholding where they have horses, sheep, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs. Whenever you are outside of the garden please keep your four-legged family on a lead.
If you can tear yourself away from Barnyard, there is a plethora of things to do in the local area. The market town of Sherborne is close by with its mix of shops, cafés and restaurants as well as its castle (built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594) to explore. Dorchester is a short drive away as is the purpose-built village of Poundbury, commissioned by King Charles, also numerous coast towns and beaches.

Barnyard is a lovely holiday accommodation and spotlessly clean. Heleena and Chris are great hosts and are there if you need them. We loved seeing the animals in it's peaceful and quiet environment. We had an amazing view of the sunset every evening whilst sat in the relaxing hot tub. There are lots of lovely places to visit if you want to explore the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend Barnyard as you won't be disappointed.

We have visited for the past three years and have already booked for 2027!The hosts provide an impeccable approach balancing privacy with assistance if required and will always help if required and if possible.The Barnyard itself provides the perfect location for a step back from the usual stresses of everyday life and there are plenty of amazing places to visit, venues for fantastic food, and local activities. We have found so many varied and interesting things to see and do and already have enough options for many future visits to come. We wholeheartedly recommend a visit, but book early if you have a specific date in mind 😉

After a couple of bad experiences recently with holiday cottages, Barnyard has restored our faith, not only with the property but also the owners and their attention to detail. Helena and Chris made sure our holiday was perfect. Lovely to see the animals and hear about their stories. We were invited to see the sheep getting their annual haircuts which was great. Barnyard is set in a beautiful, quiet location, has lovely comfy beds and hot water on tap! What more could you want.
