Departing the cottage, stroll through the lanes down to the beach where you can fish, beachcomb or just enjoy the wonderful scenery.

Enjoy the spectacular Sunsets from Chesil beach which are not to be missed. After viewing a glorious sunset then why not try Quiddles or The Cove House Inn or, recommended by previous guests and nestled next to the Chesil beach.

Just a short walk away from Unicorn are pubs, shops and a supermarket and about a 15-minute walk away is The National Sailing Academy, making Unicorn a perfect base for water sports enthusiasts.

To explore the Isle of Portland take the South West Coastal Path which takes you all around the exterior of the island. Visit the Portland Bill Lighthouse, taking in the rugged landscape and old quarries along the way.

Weymouth is just a short car journey or bus ride away with it’s long and sandy beach, traditional beach entertainments and a vibrant town centre, you can be assured of an exciting holiday filled with adventures.

The county town of Dorchester is only 14 miles away and if stunning coastal scenes are your desire then you have the Portland to West Bay road for incredible views and places to see.

On Dorset's spectacular Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, the village of Fortuneswell can be found on the rugged Isle of Portland, joined to the mainland via Chesil Beach, a pebble spit, which stretches 18 miles towards West Bay. Formerly a quarrying area, Fortuneswell boasts a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with an intriguing maze of streets that wind their way up a steep hill to offer stunning views of the Jurassic Coast and the rolling hills of Dorset beyond. The surrounding countryside is well known as a birdwatcher’s paradise, plus with great walking and climbing opportunities, an array of watersport activities, wonderful sandy beaches, and Weymouth just 5 miles away, this super holiday destination is not to be missed!
