Guests say

Pam's House in Weymouth is a well-regarded holiday cottage praised for its excellent location and thoughtful touches like refreshments and toiletries. Guests appreciate the proximity to amenities and the beach, making it an ideal base for exploring. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights were noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests planning to return.

The property generally appears clean, but there are reports of overlooked areas with rubbish, dead flies, and personal items left behind. Some guests also noted the need to rewash kitchenware. These issues suggest room for improvement in thoroughness.

The cottage's location is highly praised for being close to the beach, harbour, and local amenities. Despite some noise concerns, the convenience factor is a standout feature that guests consistently appreciate.

Guests find the property comfortable, with good-sized beds and a cosy living area, although there are suggestions for new mattresses and more suitable furniture to optimise space. The presence of a dishwasher adds to the comfort level.

Facilities are generally good, with a dishwasher and a multi-oven microwave mentioned positively. However, maintenance issues like non-functioning HDMI cables, windows, and bathroom fans, as well as the need for better cleaning tools, slightly detract from the overall experience.

Guests feel welcomed by the small touches such as refreshments and toiletries provided. However, it is politely noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

We did have problems with the cleanliness the oven was filthy, there was all sand and bits on the living room floor, the dish washer was full of dishes, the lights in the down stairs flat was flashing all the time ( which I phoned about on Saturday and left a message but nobody got back to me), the washing machine wash broken ( couldn’t open the door)and we could have done with a rail for the stairs because they were a bit steep. In saying all that we had a lovely time and all the bedding was spotless.

Some comments to explain my scores: I believe the cleaning had been done with “blue roll” paper towels as bits of it were still stuck to the shower, sink, and taps and needed to washed off. Many of the glasses had to be rewashed as they were grimy/greasy, as were taps in the kitchen. The bath towels weren’t great. As they were microfibre they didn’t completely dry you and left you feeling damp (and picking blue fluff off yourself for the rest of the day!) The flight of stairs up from the ground floor would benefit from a handrail. Please can someone take a can of WD40 to all the doors - the creaking was tremendous! Overall, the property was excellent and just a couple of minor tweaks could make it perfect - would definitely recommend it as an awesome place to stay!
