The Ferryman is a well-presented character cottage on the harbourside in Weymouth. It offers exciting and uninterrupted views across the harbour and the perfect spot to sit and watch harbour life unfold each day, from landing the daily catch to luxury yachts gliding by. With its lovely street level harbour views the kitchen diner is the perfect place to cook up a storm and then sit back and relax whilst you enjoy your meal. The sitting room on the first floor gives you a different view all together and whilst it’s a cosy place to curl up and read a good book or watch TV, you are more likely to spend you time gazing out at the harbour.
The fashionable Brewers Quay area with its restaurants and coffee houses is only a minute or two's walk from the front door and provides the perfect excuse for having a night off from cooking. Weymouth's award winning beach with it’s golden sands invites you to swim in the safe shallow waters, don’t forget to take a stroll on the esplanade with a delicious local ice cream. Watching the sun set over the bridge from the magnificent lounge picture window makes for a dazzling end to a perfect day when you book a holiday at The Ferryman. Within 30 minutes drive of The Ferryman you will find many stunning place to visit including; Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Ringstead Bay, Chesil Beach, Portland Bill, and West Bay.

The glorious golden sandy beaches have excellent facilities for all kinds of watersports, whilst from the picturesque, bustling harbour you can take regular fishing trips. A short drive takes you to Portland Harbour, and the rugged “Isle” of Portland, linked to Weymouth by the dramatic Chesil Beach. Visit Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge”, only 7 miles away, or take a journey along the scenic coastal road and call in at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. Alternatively, just head down to West Bay - the views of the stunning Dorset Heritage Coastline are not to be missed!

House generally in good order . The bathroom is looking a bit tired and mould is appearing in places. Bathroom fan is extremely dirty and does not work. I would book again for the location

We had a needed to replace a bulb and the Cafettiere when visiting; this was done on the day of notification (impressive). The harbour view from the 1st floor, you could sit all day and watch from. The owner provides a parking permit, which is an absolute must in this location. Genuinely, this the 1st time I have said that we would definitely return to this property.

The cottage has everything that you need for a great stay, the views to the front are fabulous and you can spend so much time watching the world go by. The property has an enviable location being about 5 metres away from the Harbour wall, crabbing or fishing is literally on your door step. Property is close to all sort off amenities. Be prepared stairs are narrow and steep. Parking permits was really useful as we managed to Park in one of the nearby parking bays. Would definetlly book again.
