Forest House has recently been converted from a hotel into a fantastic self-catering property suitable for large groups of holidaymakers. The house really does have everything you could need to enjoy a fantastic holiday in the Forest of Dean/Wye Valley.
11 bedrooms in total can comfortably accommodate up to 24, 10 rooms have their own modern en suite and television, and for those with mobility issues (or simply wanting some peace and quiet away from the main group!) there is a ground floor suite comprising a double bedroom, connecting twin bedroom, shared en-suite and disabled toilet. There are a couple of lounges, a fantastic dining room which can comfortably seat everyone in your party, and a real chef’s kitchen. You even have your own bar area!
Outside the garden area is small but secure, and lovingly maintained. There is a furnished patio area with plenty of seating, heater, BBQ and hot tub.
Coleford itself is a small town in the heart of the Forest, and a great base from which to explore the area. There are shops, pubs, restaurants and a cinema pretty much on your doorstep, but you can also access the cyclepaths and walkways just 5 minutes walk from the front door.
The Forest of Dean has a wealth of attractions to suit all ages, tastes and abilities, and has a rich heritage to discover unlike anywhere else in England. Visit the museums and historic buildings, castles and ancient churches and learn about the industrial archaeology throughout the Forest and the length of the lower Wye Valley. Days out at Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, Beechenhurst Lodge and Perrygrove Railway (to name a few) will not disappoint.
Be sure to take in the fabulous scenery during your stay in the Forest, whether it's rambling on foot or cycling you prefer. The beautiful Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is within a short drive. Travelling down river by canoe must surely be one of the best ways to spend a day, taking in the breath-taking views. If you enjoy a spot of shopping and good food, pay a visit to the market towns of Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Abergavenny.
