The Lodge in Lydney is highly praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and well-equipped nature. Guests enjoy the farm setting, local amenities, and the property's suitability for both families and couples. The location is ideal for star gazing and exploring the Forest of Dean. The property is consistently described as spotlessly clean, with only one review mentioning the need for a major spring clean. The overwhelming majority of feedback highlights the cleanliness as a strong point.

Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of a cosy atmosphere and suitable furnishings. However, some guests noted the creaky floorboards and softer beds than usual, which slightly affected the comfort score.
The Lodge is praised for being well-equipped and suitable for guests' needs. However, there are comments about the need for maintenance, such as attention to the freezer and cooker filter, which suggests room for improvement in this category.
While the reviews reflect a positive experience with friendly hosts and a welcoming environment, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that could be quantified in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Stayed here for a short weekend break, hoping to explore some of the lovely walks the Forest of Dean had to offer, alas the weather wasn’t on our side so instead to took a cozy break indoors. The cottage is full of charm and the hosts are nothing but exceptional! Arrival was easy and parking for you designated spaces was clearly signposted. The kitchen was perfectly serviceable and had all the things you needed to cook and prepare a tasty meal. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milk were all provided with some biscuits. The beds were comfortable too. The owners facilitated a later check out at our request which was much appreciated. The only thing I would say is to have some clearer check-in instructions and a What3Words to find the location as the postcode doesn’t take you quite to the place. You are towards the end of the road by a T-Junction. Regardless we still loved our stay and would recommend to friends!

Spotlessly clean and a very easy arrival process got the week off to a great start. The Lodge is spacious and very well equipped. The farmyard smell was something we hadn’t truly reckoned on but you soon get used to it. Having a look around the farm during our stay was great and everyone we met at the farm was friendly and helpful. I’m going to get the only downside that we had out of the way early so that I can focus on the positive stuff as it was such a great stay. If you are sleeping in the downstairs bedroom and you have others sleeping upstairs you can hear every step they take when walking around as the boards up there really creaked. There, that’s out of the way. The location of the Lodge allows for excellent star gazing and is a quick drive into Lydney and surrounding areas. Lydney has supermarkets and local shops offering everything you’ll need. The welcome folder in the sitting room has info on various take away if you want one. We used Lydney Chippy, Saffron Balti, Lydney Charcoal Grill and D&M Pizza and all were fantastic. There was so much to see and do in the area, all within an hours drive. The big plus was that all the people we met were as friendly and helpful as the people at the farm. Would we recommend the Lodge? We wish we lived there!
