Peacefully nestling high above the lush woodlands of the famously beautiful Royal Forest of Dean, this charming property offers very comfortable accommodation and a large sunny landscaped garden (pictured) and with panoramic countryside views from the bedrooms. Decorations and a real 6ft tree are provided for Christmas bookings. Lovely forest walks start from the door and angling, cycling, canoeing, riding and climbing are available nearby, whilst the myriad attractions of the Forest range from a steam railway to a butterfly zoo. Forest Hills Golf Course, Coleford is only 8 minutes away. The Wye Valley and historic Monmouth’s excellent range of leisure facilities are within a half hour’s drive as are Gloucester’s celebrated docks, outlet shopping and magnificent cathedral. Shop and pub 1 mile. Nearest supermarket is Tesco in Cinderford an 11 minute drive from the cottage.

It was an absolute delight to stay at this cottage. The location is central to anything you would like to explore in the Forest of Dean or if you want to go slightly further afield too. There is the opportunity to do walks from its very doorstep. What made the holiday even better was the cottage itself. A really lovely welcome from the owners and a run through of the place gets you off to a lovely start. The cottage itself has recently had work done to the garden room to make the place even more comfortable. The garden was spacious and secure for the dogs. I wish I could say my ability at darts improved during the week but I can recommend the games room as a place to relax after dinner. The cottage has a really good working kitchen with everything you need. It also has all the channels you need to watch pretty much everything but it was so nice to relax and take everything in at a different pace I think we only switched the TV on once. It is quite simply a lovely place to stay and the cottage most definitely enhanced a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
