Milkman's Barn in Gloucester is a spacious and beautifully decorated cottage, ideal for large groups and families. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and peaceful rural setting. The open-plan living space and hot tub are highlights, making it perfect for gatherings. While most found the accommodation comfortable, some noted that the extra beds are less suitable for adults and that parking can be tight. Minor issues with supplies and maintenance were mentioned, but overall, guests enjoyed a relaxing and memorable stay in a lovely location.
Multiple reviews highlight the property as clean, tidy, and well looked after. Only one or two minor mentions of maintenance or cleanliness issues were noted, but these did not detract from the overall positive impression.
The location is frequently described as beautiful, peaceful, and close to attractions like the Forest of Dean. Guests appreciated the rural setting and calm surroundings, with only minor comments about privacy due to the property being part of a complex.
Guests found the main bedrooms and living spaces comfortable and spacious, with many positive comments about the beds and overall relaxation. However, several reviews mention that the extra sleeping arrangements (sofa beds, floor mattresses) are not ideal for adults, which affected comfort for larger groups.
The barn is praised for its well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and stylish décor. Some guests noted issues such as insufficient toilet paper, lack of some promised amenities, and furniture needing an upgrade. The property is generally well-equipped, but a few maintenance and supply issues were reported.
Guests appreciated the provision of towels and bedding, and responsive communication was mentioned. However, there were some disappointments regarding missing or insufficient supplies (e.g., toilet rolls, logs for the hot tub), and no gifts were mentioned. The property was lovely and in a beautiful location, however it was unclear from the listing that two of the seven beds were mattreses on the floor and not entirely suitable for adults. Some of the described provisions were not provided (logs for the hot tub) and some basic expectations were not met (insufficient toilet paper for the number of guests) but otherwise excellent.

We have just returned from a fabulous family Christmas at the Milkmans Barn. The living space was fabulous. The kitchen was well equipped as indicated when I contacted the property. However most of the baking trays were too big to fit in the oven which did cause some logistical problems when trying to cook Christmas lunch for 14. I have contacted the property about this. The 5 main bedrooms were spacious and well suited the 10 adults in our party. However if it was to sleep 14 adults I don't think it is suitable as the extra sleeping space is on a landing with people walking through to their rooms. It was fine for us as 2 of the children slept on what were basically foldout cushions, not sofa beds and the youngest 2 slept on airbeds in their parents room. There was suitable bedding and towels for us all. Having said that the cottage was warm and spacious and it was lovely that we had enough space for us all to sit and eat together. It was lovely to be able to bring the dogs too. All in all we had a fabulous time and would go again, good that we know the limitations now though
