Given the age and history you cannot expect this to be totally cobweb free. Donât expect a lifeless Travelodge experience. It was clean and tidy, full of character and very spacious. My kids loved it and we felt very relaxed.

We got to feel what it would be like if we owned some kind of small stately home. We had plenty of space, The kitchen was big enough to dine in most evenings and the dining room made a great table for playing games in the evening and my teenage son loved pretty much having an entire floor to himself. The living room was lovely and we could also relax in the evenings there. Facilities were great, although the only shower is up in the very top floor. I know some folks have complained about cobwebs and such and yes the it isn't spotless, but honestly if you want that kind of thing, stay in a hotel. If you want character and an old English house then this is the place for you. There are plenty of things to do all within about 30 minutes drive. If I wanted to return to the area to stay I would have no qualms about staying here again.
