Castle Cottage is a beautiful 17th century cottage, nestled away in the pretty Cotswold village of Winchcombe. The low beams and exposed brickwork combined with the pretty courtyard garden create the ideal place for a getaway, no matter the time of year.
This lovingly renovated two bedroom cottage boasts numerous original and characterful features, whilst offering a warm, homely feel throughout.
The tasteful furnishings and special touches run throughout the cottage, from the exposed wooden beams through to the ornate, hand-carved beds.
The spacious, well-equipped kitchen is the perfect place to create your evening meals, with the dining table being the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee together or to relax after a day exploring over a home cooked meal.
The sitting room, with its exposed beams and cosy window seat, is centred around the beautiful wood burning stove. Offering the ideal place to relax with a book or unwind from a day of meandering along the ‘Cotswold Way’ with a film or your favourite box-set.
Upstairs, both bedrooms are tastefully furnished, with the principle bedroom featuring a hand-carved, four-poster super-king size bed, with a stunning feature fireplace. The principle bedroom also boasts a shower room with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom comfortably sleeps two further guests with twin single beds, and is served by the family bathroom with its beautiful roll-top bath.
Outside, the small yet spacious courtyard garden is perfect for alfresco dining on those long summer evenings or warming up with a hot chocolate after a winters’ walk in muddy boots.
Castle Cottage is the perfect place for a tranquil escape from day-to-day life; sitting behind the bustling high street of Winchcombe, where there are an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Winchcombe is famous for Sudley Castle and Gardens and is on the doorstep of many wonderful walks. If you want to venture further afield, there are many other Cotswold villages just a short drive away such as, Broadway, Snowshill and Chipping Campden. It is also just 6 miles from the regency spa town of Cheltenham.
