About this property

Resting in the popular market town of Winchcombe, is this beautiful three-bedroom 19th century Cotswold stone property, Teasel Cottage, which is the ideal base for a family or small gathering of friends from which to explore the North Cotswold region and beyond.

Be welcomed straight into the bright and airy sitting room, which is the perfect space to spend a restful evening watching the television, whilst the woodburning stove keeps the whole room warm and toasty.

Venture on the smart wooden flooring, up three steps into the large, sociable kitchen/diner, where you can look forward to putting your culinary skills to the test using the electric oven and hob as well as other contemporary appliances, before gathering with your loved ones around the beech dining table to dig into your meal, as the electric stove-effect fire crackles away in the background.

Do not fear if you return back from your fun-filled day out with muddy clothes, as you will find a handy washer/dryer located in the utility room!

When the night draws to a close, make your way upstairs where you will find three well-presented bedrooms; the master is a welcoming room with exposed wooden beams and a king-size bed, the second bedroom also with lovely exposed wooden beams has a super-king-size bed (zip/link, can be twin on request) and the third bedroom overlooks the garden below and contains a single bed with an en-suite walk-in shower.

In the morning, enjoy an invigorating rise in the walk-in shower in the family shower room, before heading down to catch the morning sunrise in the delightful enclosed garden which has a manicured lawn and a raised patio area home to an outdoor table set, bordered by fragrant flowers and leafy shrubs which bring colour to the garden, and a gas barbecue can be found on the lower patio by the back door, perfect for warm sunny days!

Teasel Cottage is situated in the vibrant market town of Winchcombe, an ancient Saxon town with impressive architecture, independent shops, cafes, country inns and fine dining restaurants.

Known as the walking capital of the Cotswolds, there are countless footpaths on its doorstep, many of which incorporate sections of the Cotswold Way long distance walking trail which covers over 100 miles of spectacular countryside. In addition to stunning scenery, the town is also home to a variety of tourist attractions including the historic Sudeley Castle and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, which makes a stop in Winchcombe to pick up passengers on its 28-mile round trip.

Winchcombe is well-placed for visiting the many wonderful villages and towns of the North Cotswolds such as Broadway, home to Broadway Tower, an iconic landmark, as well as Stow-on-the-Wold, a historic market town which hosts an array of individual shops, contemporary art galleries and a farmers’ market, held on the second and last Thursday of every month, offering lovely local produce.

The nearby regency town of Cheltenham offers a wide range of attractions, perhaps the most well-known being the Cheltenham Festival, one of the top horse racing events in the UK.

For a holiday that all the family will remember, stay at Teasel Cottage.

The bustling Fairtrade town of Winchcombe, a conservation site, lies above the River Isbourne, midway between Cheltenham and Broadway. Visitors can sample a mouthwatering array of local produce in the town's restaurants, wine bars, tea shops and deli's, or stroll around the eclectic range of local shops, all located along the three main streets, which remain full of character with their honey coloured stone and timbered exterior. The town also plays host to music and arts festivals, country shows and farmers’ markets. Guided walks around the town are on offer throughout the summer months, while Winchcombe lies on the intersection of the Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire Way, Warden's Way and Windrush Way, providing ample walking to suit all abilities. The quintessential English village of Broadway is just a short drive away and offers individual shops and boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and hotels, including the world-renowned Lygon Arms, popular for centuries and now offering spa facilities. The regency spa town of Cheltenham boasts beautiful Georgian architecture and a delightful range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions, including the famous racecourse. Many unspoilt Cotswold towns and villages lie to the east, whilst to the west is the waterfront city of Gloucester and the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean. The beautiful World Heritage city of Bath, Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, and Warwick, with its magnificent castle, are all within an hour’s drive.
