Tree of Life House is a five-bedroom holiday home in Glastonbury, Somerset, sleeping up to 12 guests and offering spacious self-catering accommodation for families, friends and retreat groups. Glastonbury town centre, the Abbey, Chalice Well and White Spring are no more than a 10-minute walk, and the Tor is visible from the property. Two dogs are welcome and a large driveway with off-road parking make this a practical holiday rental for larger groups exploring Somerset. 

Tree of Life House gives groups the rare chance to stay within walking distance of Glastonbury's best-known landmarks while still having a substantial house and garden to come back to. This five-bedroom holiday home sleeps up to 12 guests, with every bedroom having its own bathroom or shower room. It works particularly well for organised retreats, extended families and groups of friends, with several places to spend time together rather than everyone competing for the same sofa. One king bedroom is on the ground floor and has a freestanding bath and large walk-in shower, which is useful for guests who would rather avoid the stairs. The remaining bedrooms are spread across the first and second floors, including rooms with views towards Glastonbury Tor and the Abbey. There is ample parking too, so arriving in several cars isn't a problem.

Location is a major part of a stay here. Tree of Life House is on Bere Lane, with Glastonbury's eclectic centre and many of its historic and spiritual sites close enough to reach on foot. The Riflemans Arms is about 0.3 miles away and is dog-friendly, while Chalice Well and White Spring are about a ten-minute walk away. Glastonbury Abbey, the Somerset Rural Life Museum and the town's independent shops, cafés, markets and restaurants are also nearby. Glastonbury Tor rises above the town and can be seen from the house; climb to the summit on a clear day and the views extend across the Somerset Levels and beyond. The town's long association with Arthurian legend, pilgrimage and alternative spirituality gives it a character unlike anywhere else in Somerset. Even visitors with little interest in its mystical side will find plenty to explore among the historic buildings, live music, galleries and independent businesses.

Plenty lies beyond Glastonbury if you want a change of scene. The Mendip Hills bring walking, caves and limestone scenery within reach, while the Somerset Levels are known for wetlands, birdlife and broad open landscapes. Wells makes an easy outing for its cathedral, Bishop's Palace and compact medieval centre, and Somerset's coast is accessible for a day beside the sea. Back at the house, the garden offers a useful counterpoint to busy days out. It has a large lawn, an ancient apple tree and an original stone wall, with a summerhouse at the front and views towards the Tor. The conservatory can also be configured for group activities, adding another useful option for retreat stays. With five en-suite bedrooms, separate downstairs W/C and several shared rooms, Tree of Life House allows a dozen people to stay under one roof without feeling that every part of the holiday has to be spent together.

Tree of Life House has space for families, friends, or retreats with like-minded people, centrally located in the ancient town of Glastonbury.

Ground Floor

Living room/conversatory: A sociable room for relaxing. There is a TV and space for the group to spread out. The room can also be configured for group activities.

Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, induction hob, full-sized oven, dishwasher and microwave.

Separate dining room: Extendable dining table seating up to 12 and sofa area.

Utility: Washing machine and sink.

Bedroom 5: King-size bed with an en-suite bathroom containing a freestanding bath and large walk-in shower. This bedroom is on the ground floor, not overlooked, off the living area.

First Floor

Bedroom 1: Two full-sized single beds, en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower and views towards the garden and Abbey Park.

Bedroom 2: King-size bed and en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower.

Bedroom 3: Double bed, en-suite shower room and a front-facing view towards Glastonbury Tor.

Second Floor

Bedroom 4: Double bed, en-suite shower room and dual-aspect views towards Glastonbury Tor and the Abbey. Two single folding guest beds can be added by prior arrangement, allowing the house to sleep up to 12. This room is reached via two staircases.

Outside

Large enclosed lawned garden with outdoor furniture including dining table and chairs, hammock, fire pit and seating area, an ancient apple tree and original stone wall. There is also a summerhouse in the front garden and views towards Glastonbury Tor. Driveway parking for multiple cars and additional nearby on-road parking is available.

Additional Information

Each bedroom has a fan and a hairdryer. Two single folding guest beds in the second-floor bedroom are available by prior arrangement - please contact the owner before booking. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, subject to house rules. WiFi, bed linen and towels are included, 6x yoga mats and a highchair and a travel cot are available and accessible to guests. A discount is available for 7+ nights and for direct bookings.
