Ideal for visiting Glastonbury with its Abbey, Chalice Well, and the Tor with its remains of the 15th-century church. Shepton Mallet, approx 3 miles, offers varied shops, restaurants, and the floodlit carnival in November. Within 3 miles of Royal Bath & West Showground, venue of many interesting events throughout the year. Cathedral city of Wells approx. 5 miles. Nearest beaches at Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea, both approx 20 miles. Bus stop 2 miles. Train station 9 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Walter's Cottage is in a very peaceful setting which we loved.The cottage is well equipped with everything you could want, especially if you intend to do all your cooking there.The only down side is that the whole place could do with updating.Especially the living room sofas as they are extremely uncomfortable.The beds are really comfy, we had great nights sleep.The views are lovely and we enjoyed watching the wildlife. We had two deer, mother and baby, on two days.

The cottage was very clean and very tidy which was very good but it desperately needs modernisation. The TV kept playing up and the kitchen blind broke very very old-fashioned and if you’re nervous driver I wouldn’t bother going because it’s really tricky. The roads are very narrow. But the wildlife. Was very good . But wouldn’t go again ?

This cottage is perfectly situated for visiting places like Wells and Glastonbury. It is unpretentious and secluded and fully met our needs. The owners had thoughtfully left lovely flowers, fruit & busicuits. We found our stay highly relaxing. We loved watching the wildlife.
