Welcome to Mow Barton, a stunning three-bedroom holiday home set on the beautiful Wellesley Park Estate, surrounded by countryside yet only a 25-minute walk to the city of Wells.
This fabulous home, set all on one floor, has an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area with vaulted ceiling and huge floor to ceiling windows that let in the light, and look over the garden to the fields beyond. Speakers in the ceiling, connected to Spotify, allow you to play music throughout the living areas, while statement and mood lighting gives an ambience for any time of day. The high-end kitchen is fully equipped with American fridge/freezer, wine cooler, double ovens, steam oven, microwave, induction hob, washing machine and tumble dryer. A wonderful island opens the kitchen up to the dining area, with large dining table, which leads to the lounge area with large L shape sofa, Smart TV and gorgeous views. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with en-suite shower room, bedroom two has a double bed, and bedroom three has a kingsize bed which can be turned into twins, giving you flexible sleeping arrangements depending on your party. The main bathroom has a shower over the bath.
Outside, you have a wonderful large terrace seating area with L shaped garden furniture and a lawned area. The garden is not enclosed/gated and opens directly onto the Wellesley Estate. Mow Barton has the huge bonus of access to Wellesley Park’s fabulous leisure complex, with a fantastic indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room, gym, library and outdoor tennis court. All of these are bookable for private use with booking slots and are included in the price of your stay.
Set just 2 miles from the smallest city in the UK, Wells, which can be reached on foot in just 25 minutes and has an array of shops, bars and restaurants for you to enjoy. The Mendip Hills area of outstanding natural beauty can be reached on foot also for fabulous walks. Slightly further afield you have the ancient historic town of Glastonbury, famous for both its music festival and its Tor, it has a rich history to explore and uncover. The larger city of Bath can be reached in under an hour by car and there are plenty of national trust properties nearby to visit and enjoy.

The cottage was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The local area was great - lots of walks and the city centre was only a 30 min walk away.The onsite facilities were lovely - superb tennis court, good gym and lovely well kept pool, sauna and steam room.However, if you are looking for somewhere for children to have fun and be children - this is not the place. You have private access to the pool, but even though there is no one else in the pool you cannot play catch, or jump in from the sides. Our three teenage boys did not want to swim lengths for an hour so the pool was a huge disappointment to us. The site is more for adults which is fine, but needs to be advertised as such.We would go back again, but not with our children!!

Lovely house, very clean, was all pretty much perfect. The only issue was booking a slot at the pool, you're only allowed 1 hour a day using the app/calender, however the welcome book does say that you can book a second hour later on same day operating on a first come first basis. On paper its simple, however the app does not work properly, it allows you to book, but then send a cancellation message, stating you can only book 1 hour a day. I called the number to ask for help but the person I spoke with said that yes there is an issue with the system and that if it doesn't let you then you cannot use. Its just an unnecessary stress when you have kids expecting to be able to use the pool not being able, even though the pool was empty and not being used at the time.If they can get this very minor issue sorted its pretty much perfect

Our family had a wonderful long weekend at Mow Barton, a stunning house with beautiful views. We felt the house was extremely well equipped, immaculately clean, comfortable and warm. We received a very warm welcome from the Caretakers, Christine & Trevor and excellent communication from the owner. The gym and pool facilities are excellent and a real bonus. The house is perfectly located to visit Wells, Glastonbury and Clarke’s Village. We highly recommend a stay at Mow Barton and hope to stay again!
