Please note: The garden is bordered on one side by a leated stream, separated by a fence. There are 2 steps up to the garden.. This spacious semi-detached cottage is an ideal base for those wanting to explore the historical city of Wells. It’s situated on the main road on the outskirts of Wells, as you approach from Glastonbury. You’ll be in the centre of the city in just over a mile where you’ll find the high street, shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. A visit to Wells Cathedral and the Bishops Palace is a must. There is also a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday and there are two supermarkets within 10 minutes’ walk.
Local places to visit include the mystical town of Glastonbury, famous for its ruined abbey, Rural Life Museum and Glastonbury Tor. It is worth the walk where the views from the top are spectacular across the Vale of Avalon. Street with its Clarks Village Outlet Shopping Centre. For a great day out visit Wookey Hole Caves and Paper Mill, or Cheddar Caves and famous Cheddar Gorge.
Further attractions all within an hour’s drive are Weston-Super-Mare, Grand Pier and the Sea Aquarium, Longleat Safari Park, Yeovilton Fleet Air Museum and the West Somerset Steam Railway. Not forgetting the World Heritage city of Bath, with its abbey, Royal Crescent and Roman Baths. Bristol is also under an hour’s drive, with galleries and shopping centres. Beach 21 miles. Shop 200 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Wir waren für eine Woche Gäste bei Doug und Kim. Das Haus liegt sehr stadtnah an einer befahrenen Strasse, aber wir haben in einem Zimmer nach hinten geschlafen und es war überraschend ruhig. Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet, ein kleiner Garten, hübsch bepflanzt, ist auch da. Es war alles sehr sauber, Waschmaschine, extra Trockner, Wäschespinne im Garten und noch ein Wäscheständer im Haus, perfekt. Das Bad ist im Parterre, aber in der ersten Etage ist nochmal eine Toilette. Es gibt einen eigenen Parkplatz neben dem Haus, was wir sehr geschätzt haben. Es ist Platz genug, alles unterzubringen. Die Küche mit dem großen Herd ist ein Highlight. Doug und Kim sind sehr, sehr hilfsbereite Vermieter. Wir bedanken uns nochmal!!!Wir haben uns im Haus und Garten sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen

We had a lovely stay in this cottage! It was easy to find and very conveniently located, only a short walk into the city centre if you don’t want to pay for parking and close to lots of places of interest outside Wells too (Cheddar, Wookey, Glastonbury etc). The cottage itself has everything you’d need, including some thoughtful extras like a selection of spices for cooking and some dvds for entertainment. It was very clean and the cottage was nice and airy despite the warm(ish) weather. We did not have an issue with the road noise and Kim & Doug were also very friendly and welcoming :)
