Guests say

1 Old Thatch is a cosy and comfortable cottage in Bridgwater, Somerset, appreciated for its beautiful setting and proximity to Kilve beach. Guests have enjoyed the pleasant walks, local pub, and the cottage's suitability for dogs. The property's charm and quiet location are frequently mentioned, making it a lovely getaway for those seeking relaxation.

The cottage generally maintains good standards of cleanliness, though a few guests mentioned a musty smell and suggested a deeper clean for certain kitchen items. The majority did not raise cleanliness as an issue.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful walks, proximity to the beach, and a welcoming local pub. The scenic surroundings contribute to a positive experience, although amenities are limited and the local beach did not meet everyone's expectations.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially highlighting the spacious double bedroom. However, some noted the bathroom can be cold, and additional blankets might be needed for warmth.

While the cottage is well-equipped, several guests reported issues with the bathroom facilities, such as plugs not holding water and a cold bathroom. The low water pressure and small TV were also noted. Maintenance issues like these have slightly impacted the overall experience.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness accurately. While some guests mentioned a welcome pack, the contents and reception of such gestures varied, and there is no guarantee of gifts being provided.

Location good. Had a very enjoyable stay.

However , the place would be better served with a combi boiler and a bigger TV. Also the area itself has few amenities and the local beach is a joke !

  • Jean

Also I couldn’t get into the bath for a shower as again no facilities for a person like me. But saying all that if you have no mobility issues The Thatch is perfect, it’s a real charming place to stay.Regards J Morris.
