Good things:We stayed at this lodge for a week and really appreciated how tidy, spacious and well‑kept it was. The interior was lovely, with plenty of towels, bathrobes, and useful amenities like a washing machine, dishwasher and all the kitchen essentials. The location itself is beautiful and peaceful — perfect for a family break. The staff at the entrance were also very kind and allowed us to check in 30 minutes early during the heatwave, which we were really grateful for.Things that could be improved:The hot tub wasn’t very clean, and during the heatwave it was difficult to use without any shade or cover. There was also very little privacy, as the neighbouring lodge was extremely close and we felt exposed — and worried about disturbing them. The fridge didn’t work properly, which meant food we bought the day before went off, including milk. Drinks and water never got cold, which made the heatwave even harder to manage. The outdoor table was old and fragile, and actually cracked while we were using it. A nail was sticking out, which felt unsafe, especially with children around.During an evening walk around the lodge area, a staff member approached my family and asked if we were staying there, then told us not to make any mess. The tone felt uncomfortable and unnecessary, and we felt singled out in a way that didn’t feel welcoming.Overall, the lodge itself is lovely, but a few issues affected our stay more than expected.

We enjoyed our stay but it was unfortunate that we stayed in the heatwave and the Lodge was not geared up for the heat.

It was great. They even made the effort to decorate over the holiday season and everything was clean!
