Strawberry Lodge in Cheddar is highly praised for its peaceful and convenient location, making it an excellent base for exploring the area and enjoying dog walks. Guests consistently mention the warm and helpful hosts, spacious and well-equipped accommodation, and the tranquil surroundings. While a few reviews note minor maintenance and cleaning issues, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests keen to return. The property is especially appreciated by dog owners and those seeking a relaxing break close to local attractions.
Most guests found the lodge clean and comfortable, though a few mentioned areas needing attention, such as cobwebs, bird droppings outside, and minor bathroom cleaning. Overall, cleanliness is good but could be improved with more regular exterior and detail cleaning.
The location is frequently highlighted as a major strength, being peaceful, secluded, and within easy walking distance of Cheddar and local attractions. Proximity to dog walks and the reservoir is especially appreciated.
Guests describe the lodge as spacious, comfortable, and well-heated, with good furniture and a pleasant atmosphere. Some minor suggestions for improvement include a firmer duvet and additional features for those with mobility issues, but overall comfort is rated highly.
The lodge is well-equipped with modern kitchen appliances, good WiFi, and ample parking. Some guests would have preferred a fenced area for dogs and noted minor maintenance needs, but facilities generally meet or exceed expectations.
The hosts are repeatedly described as exceptionally welcoming and helpful, providing local information and, in one case, a rug for an elderly dog. While thoughtful gestures are mentioned, please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed.

We had a lovely short break here. Well equipped, comfortable lodge. Dogs were very welcome and really enjoyed seeing the squirrels through the patio doors!

This was our second 4 night break at Strawberry Lodge and we really enjoyed it! The cottage is spacious with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s in a very quiet spot with lots of interesting places to visit near by. It is an easy 20 minute walk into Cheddar. The parking space is good and we will certainly return in the future.
