Stayed here for 4 nights when arrived it could have been a bit cleaner flys everywhere in both en-suite bathrooms. Shower wasn’t clean and overall wasn’t very COVID clean. Had to tread cutlery and pots due to food still being on them. Had a major leak through one of the doors which when rang out of hours no one answered until the next day which the said they would get someone to look when we had left. Hot tub was cold. Wasn’t best pleased to have to park in a car park and not outside the lodge. Also the gardens to the manor you can’t go look around as it’s by appointment only. Overall the lodge was ok but these things could have been sorted and made sure it was cleaned well before hand.

We stayed in the Hawthorn Lodge 8 and its a beautiful lodge, well furnished and spacious and the hot tub is great. Karen is a great host and very helpful.The downsides of this site:- Restaurant and Bar are closed - Swimming Pool and Spa are for over 16s only.- Small site with no grounds or areas to walk- the road it sits on is a busy road, and although 30mph, people drive much faster and due to the bends in the road and there being no pavement or pathway, its not very safe to walk.- We had a lot of noise due to ongoing building works on site- No on site shop or local amenities- No parking close to your lodge, its a short walk from the car park which is OK in fair weather, but not ideal.
