Situated in a wonderful location, just outside the small village of Thorncombe in West Dorset, near the Somerset border, this single-storey, detached barn conversion offers a great opportunity to get away from it all. There are many attractions to enjoy right on the doorstep, with the historic and famous Forde Abbey and Gardens, Broadwindsor Craft Centre and some delightful Dorset villages. Within easy driving you will find Lyme Regis on the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast, where you can enjoy soaking up the sun on the sandy beach, or simply pass the time away walking along this stunning stretch of coastline. Maybe try boating, fishing, crabbing or even some fossil hunting on the shore. Inland, for some fun all the family can enjoy, the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum never ceases to thrill, or for lovers of classic cars, travel towards the Haynes Motor Museum. For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are some fantastic local walks available, with three national recreational footpaths on the doorstep of The Old Dairy. There is so much to take in, but when you return, you can unwind and enjoy a barbecue in the garden and take in the beautiful countryside views. Beach 11 miles. We have had one of our best holidays in The Old dairy, a lovely cosy cottage in a stunning rural location. There are beautiful views from every window and the bird life in the garden provides a daily joy. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped and felt homely from the first night we spent there.The village of Thorncombe is lovely and the amazing village shop and cafe is well-stocked and very friendly. The enclosed garden was great for our two dogs and there are some lovely walks in the vicinity. We couldn’t recommend this property more and we will always have very fond memories of our stay there.

We had a brilliant week staying at The Old Dairy. A lovely, cosy cottage in a beautiful, rural setting. The cottage was really well equipped and we were grateful for the biscuits and milk left for us. It is a lovely walk through fields to the local village to a wonderful village shop/cafe. The journey to the jurassic coast was about 20 minutes or so and we spent a lot of time fossil hunting. Everything was provided to get the log burner up and running and the heating at the cottage was lovely and warm to dry out everything after rainy days out! Lovely big bathroom and plenty of hot water. Lots of information is provided for places to visit or local amenities, as well as walks from the door. We enjoyed the games and jigsaws too. Such a lovely cottage - thank you for a great holiday!
