Guests say

Camelot is a charming, quirky cottage full of character, offering spacious and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful countryside setting. Guests consistently praise the well-equipped kitchen, cosy lounge with a log burner, and the lovely garden with scenic views. The owner is frequently described as welcoming and responsive. While some mention minor issues such as road noise, occasional dust or cobwebs, and a unique bathroom layout, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it an excellent choice for families, dog owners, and those seeking a relaxing rural retreat.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, with fresh linen and tidy bathrooms. However, a few reviews noted dust, cobwebs, and some areas that could be cleaner, particularly in an older property. Overall, cleanliness is good but not perfect.

The cottage is ideally situated for exploring Somerset, with easy access to local attractions like Glastonbury, Cheddar, and Wells. Guests enjoyed the countryside views and nearby walks, though some noted the proximity to a busy road and limited walkability to local amenities.

Guests frequently commented on the comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and cosy lounge. The log burner and central heating add to the comfort, though a few found the cottage chilly in winter or mentioned road noise affecting light sleepers.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, air fryer, plentiful hot water, and secure parking. Some guests mentioned quirky bathroom arrangements and minor maintenance points, but overall facilities are highly rated and suitable for families and dog owners.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as wine and dog treats on arrival, as well as the owner's friendly and responsive communication. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We spent a week at Camelot cottage in Somerset and had a very pleasant stay. The cottage has plenty of off road parking and a lovely private cottage garden . To one side of the house is a paddock/field and there is a neighbouring house to the other side. The cottage itself is very quirky and has lots of period features. The kitchen had all the mod cons to prepare a meal, minus a pair of tongs which we would have found useful. The rooms are very spacious and the lounge comfortable. The bed linen was fresh and clean and the beds comfortable (we did not use the twin room), nice fluffy towels were provided. I do however feel the 2 large bedrooms would benefit from some rugs and dressing tables with chairs. The Juliet balcony doors had been taped at the bottom and there was netting on the other small window, so we assumed these weren't to be opened. On a hot summer day this would certainly be advantageous. Despite this we had a lovely stay and it was convenient for visiting places in the area. I would highly recommend a visit to Wells and on a Saturday they have a market on, with some interesting stalls. We also had a lovely carvery at the Merry Monk near Taunton. There are also National trust properties close by to visit.

What a fantastic place! The photos do not do it justice. Excellent location for exploring the area and the cottage had everything we needed, very comfortable and well equipped.
