Beer Farm offers a peaceful and secluded countryside retreat, ideal for those seeking tranquillity, wildlife, and dog-friendly accommodation. Guests consistently praise the spacious grounds, private location, and the bonus of a swimming pool, which is popular with families. While the property is full of character and charm, some areas would benefit from updating and a more thorough clean. The kitchen and games room are functional but could use some improvements. Occasional thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts, have been appreciated by guests, though these are not guaranteed.
Several guests found the property generally clean, but there were repeated mentions of cobwebs, worn kitchenware, and occasional missed cleaning details such as blocked drains and leftover items in drawers. Some reviews noted the need for a deeper clean and more attention to detail.
The location is highly praised for its remoteness, privacy, and peaceful surroundings, making it perfect for those wanting to 'get away from it all'. The rural setting and secure grounds are especially appreciated by dog owners and families.
Guests generally found the accommodation comfortable, with good beds and plenty of space for families and pets. However, some noted the need for fans in hot weather and minor issues with room sizes and furnishings.
The swimming pool is a highlight, though some features like the jet stream and games room equipment have been unreliable or in need of repair. Kitchen equipment is functional but dated, and some minor maintenance issues were reported.
Some guests received welcome gifts and appreciated the dog-friendly touches. However, these gestures are not guaranteed for all stays. Communication about access and instructions could be improved for a smoother arrival experience.

We had an excellent time at Beer Farm. Loved the welcome gifts, and the cottage was very well catered for. The kids loved the pool and the weather was very kind to us which made it even better. It's a fabulous place for dogs who loved wandering in the fields and the grounds. This time we brought our newest dog who is much smaller than our others and she managed to crawl under the gate but some chicken wire on the bottom of them gate could easily stop this. This is our third time here and I am sure we will be back.

We generally enjoyed our stay at Beer Farm. However, we do have a few recommendations and some feedback we would like to offer.Firstly, the swimming pool jet system, which was particularly important for my son-in-law's triathlon training, was not operational. Upon contacting the owners, we were informed that they were awaiting a part. However, after reviewing previous comments, it appears this has been an ongoing issue, and therefore, it might be more appropriate not to advertise it as an available amenity if it is not consistently functional. This unfortunately necessitated my son-in-law's early departure to continue his training elsewhere.Regarding cleanliness, there were a few areas that could be improved. Upon our arrival, my mother discovered a pair of stained and smelly boys' underpants in a drawer in the twin bedroom, which my father had to dispose of. Additionally, the shower trap in the upstairs bathroom was blocked with a significant amount of hair, which my father also had to clear. In the main bedroom, during the heatwave, the fan was found to have an exposed blade without a protective cage. When activated, the blade detached and flew across the room, requiring my daughter and son-in-law to purchase a new fan. Furthermore, the pots and pans in the kitchen appear quite old and worn and may benefit from replacement. My husband and I were accommodated in the barn, which includes the swimming pool. We were rather disappointed to find that the Wi-Fi signal did not extend to this building, and as our mobile phones also lacked signal, we were unable to access the internet without going into the main house. Moreover, the television in the barn's living room was not working, and upon inspecting the remote control, we discovered that the batteries had severely corroded and disintegrated.

This must have been a beautiful home when new but it has long passed the time when it needs an upgrade. We had several issues. The key and access code were not available when we arrived but luckily the farmer allowed us through. Again, luckily, the cleaning lady was running late so we got the keys off her. Had she finished on time we would have had no means to access the property as the owners didn’t reply to our query about the keys ‘til gone 9pm.The main house and pool room suite were lovely but needed updating. The kitchen felt “dirty” as the cooking utensils, pots and pans were old and definitely not ‘non stick’.The jet stream on the pool was not working, we specifically chose this property because of the jet stream. When we informed the owners we were told an engineer would be sent out - you won’t be surprised to hear that one never appeared. The pool was not cleaned while we were there and on the fourth day I had to fish out several bugs/insects before we could use it. We did have a great time in the pool and certainly teenagers will love it. The area was very tranquil but the downside of that is a 2 mile single track where you pray nothing is coming the other way. On several occasions our prayers were not answered and reversing down a single track ‘road’ is no fun. I really wanted to give this property a good feedback as potentially it could be a great holiday getaway but too many things needed updating ( the games room especially).I think you will have a lovely time here if you understand its shortcomings but I don’t believe it was worth the price we paid.
