About this property

Located at the centre of the action of the traditional village of Carhampton, this charming white-washed terraced dwelling offers an ideal base for exploring the delights of Somerset and North Devon. With three equally delightful bedrooms, the property is perfect for a group of friends or family to enjoy a holiday in a friendly community nestled between the countryside and the coast. Hang your coats up in the hallway and come through to the back of the property where you will find the kitchen/diner, home to all the appliances you could possibly need for a week-long stay, this area of the house makes a great spot to enjoy your morning coffee at the rustic wooden breakfast bar. Relax in the sitting room where you will find ample seating to choose from, comprising a sofa, two chairs and a chaise lounge, meaning the whole group can gather together to enjoy each other’s company. The kitchen and sitting room tables fit together for a more formal dining arrangement, seating six comfortably. For a spot of quiet time, take a book from the bookshelf and step into the multi-level garden offering a tranquil spot to enjoy the fresh country air, as well as making a great area to bring everyone together in the evenings whilst huddled around the fire pit for that extra bit of warmth on a summer’s evening. When the evening draws to a close, retreat to the first floor where you will find three bright and airy bedrooms to choose from; consisting of a double with an en-suite shower room, a king-size and a double serviced by a shared shower room, you can be sure that each of these rooms is as delightful as the next, all boasting a mix of contemporary and vintage finds and luxury linens. There is a village pub and the welcoming village shop and post office stocks all the essentials. Exmoor rises almost from the back door of the cottage. Put your boots on and within ten minutes you will be walking through the deer park with Dunster Castle beckoning you on. This historic village is well worth exploring. In the other direction, Blue Anchor beach is a two-mile walk across the fields. If you time it well, you may see a magnificently restored steam train puff into the wonderfully nostalgic station at Blue Anchor. Spend a day at the beach at Minehead, or travel slightly inland to explore better the wonders of Lorna Doone country; no matter how you choose to spend your holiday, 3 Elm Cottage makes a wondrous base to return to after your days of adventure.

Carhampton is a charming village resting within close proximity to the Exmoor National Park in Somerset. The village boasts a shop and Post Office for all of your last-minute amenities, as well as holding a pub and church. There are ample walking routes from every corner of the village, within reach of farmlands and the beach of Minehead being accessible. Visit Dunster's impressive Norman castle, or enjoy a steam train journey from the seafront. No matter your taste, the village of Carhampton and its surrounding area offers something for everyone.

The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable, location is great for exploring the coast and close to Minehead and Dunster.

It is well situated for exploring the Somerset coast and we really enjoyed walking over to Dunster Castle and Blue Anchor. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped, with a charming garden.

It is a cosy cottage, with a home from home feel. The kitchen is well equipped and has good quality appliances. It is beautifully decorated through out. It just lacks some attention to detail. The ensuite room has no storage for clothes, it has items under the bed which could be stored in the shed (you could then buy under bed storage). We did have to clean a fair amount of dust from the floor and the bathroom door didn't close because the latch was out and the energy saving light didn't work. Despite a telescopic ladder under the bed, the skylight had a huge cobweb on. We found pine needles on the mantle piece, and the sofa was filthy and made you feel uncomfortable to sit on , it either needs a good clean or a cover over it ( which you could purchase from Amazon) We spent time in the garden which is well maintained and we made use of the BBQ, the hand rail needs to be tightened, as it is a bit wobbly. All in all we had a lovely stay
