There is even a slow cooker perfect for a hot meal after a long days walking on the moor. Up on the second floor is the third and final bedroom; duck beneath the sloping door frame as you enter to find the master king-size room, a true haven for a couple to escape the excitement of the group - you can even see the sea in the distance from this room. There is parking for one car right outside, with other parking that can be easily found within the village long term car park. Porlock makes a wonderful base for an escape to Exmoor and Somerset, boasting quaint tearooms, restaurants, pubs and takeaways to cater for all your culinary requirements, as well as a wide selection of shops to pick up any of your own essentials, including a delicatessen, cheesemonger, butcher, it has all you need for a self-catered stay, as well as gift shops and art galleries where you can pick up the perfect souvenir to bring back home - There is even a coffee roastery and walking shop. There is a flat half a mile walk to the pebble beach of Porlock bay from the house and wonderful walking further afield right from the doorstop, leave the car behind and begin to explore the South West Coastal Path or The Coleridge Way which comes right through Porlock. Take a kayak out from Porlock Weir on a paddle down the coast or inland to explore the magical Porlock Marsh that flooded in 1996 when the beach was breached by the tail end of a Storm.
