Upon entering this single-storey abode, you will be greeted by a kitchen/diner, where you can prepare delicious meals to be enjoyed at the dining table. For warmer evenings, enjoy the pergola with outdoor seating for six and switch on the fairy lights when the sun sets. After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where plush leather sofas invite you to relax in front of the TV for your entertainment, along with a selection of books for those quieter moments. Outside, the property continues to impress with a generous rear garden, perfect for sipping your favourite wine while soaking in the stunning countryside views. This peaceful space, surrounded by lush foliage, serves as a haven for local wildlife, offering a serene connection to nature. Choose between a quick rinse in the sleek shower room, or unwind with a soothing soak in the bathroom, before retreating for a delightful night’s sleep. Discover three beautifully presented bedrooms, a king-size, a twin, and a zip/link twin, each featuring dual-aspect windows. Immerse yourself in the local attractions of Porlock, starting with a sun-soaked day at Porlock Beach, where you can stroll along the pebbled shore and enjoy the stunning coastal views towards Porlock Weir. Walk to the coastguard lookout at nearby Hurlstone Point and in summer enjoy a Somerset cream tea at a tranquil village tea room. History enthusiasts and photographers alike will revel in a visit to the National Trust - Dunster Castle, a medieval fortress reimagined as a Victorian country home and its accompanying Watermill providing fascinating insights into the miller’s life in the late 18th century. Venture to Watersmeet, a serene spot where the East Lyn River and Hoar Oak Water meet, offering picturesque walking routes amidst the wilderness. For a family day out, don’t miss the Splash Waterworld with a range of exciting slides and pools. Venture into Minehead to browse the shops, get a bite to eat or stroll on the sandy beach. Visit the terminus of the West Somerset Railway, England’s longest heritage steam railway or chance upon the enchanting Blenheim Gardens with vibrant blooms and serene lawns. Seek tranquillity at Landacre Bridge, an exquisitely preserved medieval five-arch stone bridge, perfect for packing a picnic. If you're feeling adventurous, lace up your walking boots and mount an expedition to Dunkery Beacon, the highest point at Exmoor National Park with staggering panoramic views, as well as the nearby tranquil clearing of Webbers Post. End your day, camera in hand, at Robber's Bridge, an old stone bridge shrouded in local legend. As you gaze at the stars from the generous garden at Barton Lodge, look forward to the adventures that await on the morrow.

Porlock is a quaint village, popular with tourists due to its character, proximity to the lovely North Somerset coastline and situation within the Exmoor National Park. There are plenty of little gift shops along with pubs, cafes and restaurants to be found and only two miles away, the picturesque harbour of Porlock Weir offers wonderful views across the Bristol Channel. The Porlock Hill takes travelers up a steep, winding road out of the village to the Exmoor Hills, where walkers, horse riders and cyclists will love the open space, where ponies and red deer roam the moors. In 2011, Exmoor was designated as Europe’s first International Dark Skies Reserve, and so this is an excellent base for a romantic evening spent gazing at the stars, where a clear night unveils an abundance of interesting constellations to the naked eye. Porlock offers the choice of sea fishing from the weir, and the reservoirs and rivers of Exmoor are only a short, scenic drive away. Golfers can stay in Porlock and enjoy one of the several courses on the edges of Exmoor, with the nearest only seven miles away. The medieval village of Dunster, where the castle dominates the skyline, makes a great day out, or take a ride on the West Somerset steam train along the coast to the little harbour village of Watchet. A fabulous village location with lots of outdoor pursuits to interest every visitor.
