Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy living spaces, and the property's proximity to local amenities and walking routes. The charm of the village and the thoughtful communication from the host add to the positive experience, despite minor concerns about parking and church bells.

Reviewers consistently mention the cottage being 'spotlessly clean' and 'well-presented', indicating high standards of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to local amenities, walking routes, and attractions like Dunster Castle. Some concerns about parking and church bells prevent a perfect score.

The property is commended for its well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Some remarks about the lack of a tumble dryer and issues with parking slightly affect the score.

While guests speak highly of the host's helpfulness and the provision of local information, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this score is set to null.

About this property

This pretty mid-terraced cottage backs onto St George's Church in the small picturesque medieval village of Dunster. This cosy Dunster cottage is believed to date back to the mid 1800s and has retained some of the original features, but has been updated complete with two good-sized bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, a fitted kitchen/diner and a sitting room with a woodburner. This Dunster cottage has the added attraction of a shared mature cottage garden just a short walk from the front door, and guests are welcome to sit and enjoy the flowers. There are plentiful walks around this Dunster cottage, either into the deer park up on the Exmoor Hills or along the coastal path just a couple of miles away. The village itself has plenty of interesting gift shops, small grocery shops and a host of historic buildings, as well as a church whose bells can be heard both during the day and into the night. A short drive will take you to the pretty harbour at Watchet or west towards Porlock, and the steep hills climbing out of the village up onto Exmoor. The seaside resort of Minehead with golden sandy beaches and fun-filled mile-long beach promenade is three miles away, or why not discover the green hills of Exmoor with their abundance of deer, birds and gentle rivers bubbling through beautiful landscapes? This Dunster cottage provides a relaxing holiday in a character cottage, within Exmoor National Park.

Dunster is a Somerset village between Minehead and Bridgwater. There are many villages to explore including Porlock and the busy resort of Minehead.

Very warm, in fact, had to turn heating down. The kitchen, while small, has every conceivable gadget you could need. A great location in the very heart of Dunster. Only one niggle, parking in the vicinity can be fraught, and is clearly a problem for all residents, not ideal if you have a large car!

Plenty of local shops and places to eat and very close to Dunster Castle. Definitely recommended and we will come back again.
